Die Neuerungen bestehen erstens in einem muldenförmigen feinen Sieb α¹, das die ganze Eingufsöffnung der Giefskanne einnimmt und alle Verunreinigungen des Wassers zurückhält. Diese können hier bequemer entfernt werden als von dem Sieb λ, das sich vor dem Ausflufsrohr befindet und sonst allein für Reinhaltung der Brausenlöcher zu sorgen hat.
