Ballenfräsen sind in einigen Ausführungen bekannt. Ihnen ist gemeinsam, daß das Fräsaggregat mit einer konstanten Ge schwindigkeit entlang den abzufrasenden Ballen bewegt. Es gibt Ausführungen, bei denen durch Zahnradwechsel die vorgegebene Geschwindigkeit geändert werden kann. Es ist eine Ausführung bekannt,· bei der das Fräsaggregat-mit einer kon stanten Geschwindigkeit fräsend entlag den aufgestellten Ballen fährt. Am Ende der Ballenreihe hebt das Fräsaggregat von den Ballen ab und fährt im Eilgang ohne zu fräsen in die Ausgangsstellung zurück. Für eine homogene Ballenvorlage z.B. bei Synthetiks ist eine konstante Geschwindigkeit angebracht. Die Fräsen werden jedoch vielfach zur Verarbeitung von Baumwollmischungen eingesetzt, bei denen etwa 40 Ballen in einer Reihe aufgestellt werden. Diese Ballen sind von unterschiedlicher Herkunft und in den Faserkennwerten und der Pressung verschieden. Es ist für die Fräsaggregate schwierig, hart gepresste Ballen aufzulösen. Wird eine große Abfrästiefe gewählt, kommt es oft vor, daß das Fräs aggregat bei den harten Ballen wegen Überlastung die Fahrt unterbricht. Es ist notwendig, die Frästiefe zurückzunehmen um die Unterbrechungen bsi harten Ballen zu vermeiden. Fährt das Fräsaggregat mit konstanter Geschwindigkeit ent lang einer Reihe unterschiedlich harter Ballen, ist die Auflösung der Flocken von der Ballenpressung abhängig. Es werden aus den harten Ballen größere Flocken herausgeschlagen. Diesd größeren Flocken bringen Nachteile in der v/ei tsren Verarbeitung.
