Description
Thermoelement. Das Thermoelement, welches in der Zeichnung dargestellt ist, besteht aus einem Tantaldraht b und einem Molybdändraht a. Die beiden Drähte a und b sind mit je einem Ende miteinander verschweißt. Die beiden Drähte a und b liegen in einer Packung, bestehend aus absolut basischer und hochfeuerfester Schamotte, wodurch sie außer der Schweißstelle c überall voneinander isoliert sind. Das so entstandene Element ist nun noch in ein Schutzrohr d eingeschmolzen, das vor dem Verschmelzen von atmosphärischer Luft befreit ist. Das genannte Thermoelement hat gegenüber den bisher gebräuchlichen den Vorteil sehr billiger Anschaffungskosten und sehr hoher Meßfähigkeit, die ihren Grund darin hat, daß Tantal und Molybdän einen sehr hohen Schmelzpunkt haben. Das Thermoelement muß in einem Raume, der mit einer absolut basischen und hochfeuerfesten Masse gefüllt ist, eingeschmolzen sein, da die Metalle bei mittelhoher Temperatur oxydieren.Thermocouple.
