Description
Zur Verbindung langer Gestänge, z. B. für Pumpen, Windturbinen, Bergwerksmaschinen usw., werden als Muttern ausgebildete Schlösser verwendet, die mit Rechts- und Linksgewinde versehen sind und so eine Verbindung der einzelnen Gestängeteile ermöglichen. Zur Sicherung der Verbindung wird oft auch noch ein Splint durch die Mutter'und die Stangen gezogen, der aber meistens nach einiger Zeit bei ίο den durch den Wechsel der Kraftrichtung bedingten Schlägen im Gestänge abzubrechen pflegt.
