Stand der Technik |State of the art |
The invention is based on a motor vehicle light the genre of the main claim. Such an arrangement is in DE-OS 27 32 780 on the basis of a motor vehicle safety lighting "using a reflective baffle plate fitted with luminescent diodes is provided with a printed or conventional electrical circuit for connecting the Light emitting diodes. The circuit board contains the lighting and the electrical circuit at the same time. By a certain arrangement of the light emitting diodes Numbers, letters and the like can be displayed on the circuit board.
Vorteile der ErfindungAdvantages of the invention
The motor vehicle light according to the invention with the characterizing features of the main claim has the advantage that a predetermined light distribution and
Brightness can be achieved by a matrix-like arrangement of the light elements in a simple and reliable manner.
By aufg in the dependent claims; eführ r; s advantageous further developments and improvements are possible of the motor vehicle light in the main claim. An arrangement has proven to be particularly effective from the point of view of operational safety in which the light-emitting diodes or light-emitting diode chips, which are connected in series, in order to maintain an essentially uniform light distribution in the event of failure of series-connected light-emitting diodes or light-emitting diode chips, geometrically different rows
and rows of the luminaire matrix are assigned. This results in a statistical distribution of the failed light-emitting diodes or light-emitting diode chips, which is distributed over the entire illuminated area
and thus the functionality of the luminaire
Admittedly slightly in terms of amount, but not functionally impaired. Furthermore, it has proven to be particularly advantageous for ensuring the luminosity of the motor vehicle light according to the invention if bridging elements are arranged parallel to the light-emitting diodes or the light-emitting diode chips, which are

Auf diese Weise wird sichergestellt, daß beim Ausfall einer Leuchtdiode oder eines Leuchtdiodenchips die restlichen Lichtquellen der Reihenschaltung wirksam bleiben, so daß beim Auftritt einer Unterbrechung -in eine Diode nicht die gesamte Reihenschaltung sondern nur die einzelne Diode ausfällt.tric interruption of the diode path is automatically activated are used to bridge the electrical interruption. This ensures that the If a light-emitting diode or a light-emitting diode chip fails, the remaining light sources in the series connection remain effective, so that when an interruption occurs -in a diode not the entire series circuit but only the single diode fails.
Zeichnungdrawing
Embodiments of the invention are shown in the drawing and explained in more detail in the following description. FIG. 1 shows a first exemplary embodiment with a matrix of light emitting diodes, Figure 2 shows a circuit example for a light source arrangement similar Figure 1, with the various electrical light sources connected in series in different rows and rows are assigned, FIG. 3 shows a light source matrix with bridging elements parallel to the light sources.
Beschreibung der AusführungbeispieleDescription of the execution examples
Bei Verwendung von Leuchtdioden soll an der einzelnen Diode eine Spannung vonIn Figure 1, a DC voltage source is between the two poles via a 3limiting resistor 10 a matrix-like ·? Arrangement of light emitting diodes or light emitting diode chips switched. To simplify the illustration, all light sources are shown as light-emitting diodes 11, however, the individual light sources can also be sheet-like structures made of chips with a Large number of diode elements or from planar light sources with a phosphor layer. When using Light-emitting diodes should have a voltage of

Die Größe des Begrenzungswiderstandes 10 ergibt sich aus der zulässigen Strombelastung der Leuchtdioden und der angelegten Versorgungsspannung .voltage thus results in the number of light-emitting diodes 11 to be connected in series; with a DC supply voltage of 12 volts there are six light-emitting diodes 11 that can be connected in series. The size of the limiting resistor 10 results from the permissible current load of the light emitting diodes and the applied supply voltage .
In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 1, there are six lines to 6 each with six light emitting diodes 11 connected in parallel to illuminate a square area. the Light sources are arranged on a circuit board 12 shown schematically. The design of the motor vehicle light according to Figure 1 forms a reliable, maintenance-free Light source with which the surface of the circuit board 12 is uniformly illuminated. For all individual light emitting diodes or for the individual light-emitting diode chips 11 is the necessary Operating voltage is available; the total area to be illuminated is determined by the number of devices connected in parallel Lines defined. The use of light-emitting diode chips offers compared to discrete light-emitting diodes Advantage of a greater light output per unit area and lower costs in generating a given Brightness. Applications for the designated motor vehicle light are particularly available in the field of you Motor vehicle signal lights, for example when blinking lights, brake lights, additional brake lights, warning lights for certain driving conditions such as reversing or sharp braking and the like. The light emitting diodes or that Light-emitting diode chips are on the market at the legally prescribed levels Color shades available and can be used as required. Own when switched off they have a color matching the cover,
die beispielsweise bei farblosem Kunststoffverguß dem Aussehen von Kfz-Scheinwerfer-Streuscheiben entspricht.the appearance of colorless plastic potting, for example of vehicle headlight lenses.
Fi.jur 2 shows a further development of the arrangement according to FIG 1, -being to maintain a substantially uniform. Light distribution in the event of failure of one of lines 1 to 6 a special arrangement is made. Here are the LEDs or LEDs that are connected in series in a circuit 11 provided with the circuit line designation up to β. This means that the designated with 1 Luminous elements 11 are connected in series, as are the remaining light sources 2 to 6. Those connected in series Light-emitting diodes or light-emitting diode chips 11 are now geometrically different rows (perpendicular) and rows (horizontally) assigned to the luminaire matrix. The same order is adhered to within each of the lines, each beginning offset in a different row, wherein in the embodiment shown in FIG a number has been skipped.
The arrangement according to FIG. 2 has the advantage over the arrangement according to FIG. 1 that if a series connection of light sources fails, rather than a whole line only individual light elements - evenly distributed over the entire illuminated area - fail. This remains on the one hand an approximately uniform brightness is obtained over the entire luminous surface and, on the other hand, the optical The image of the illuminated area does not change, which is the case in special cases, e.g. when illuminating geometrical arrangements like arrows or the like. Can have a disturbing effect.
Figur 3 zeigt eine Weiterbildung der Erfindung, bei der parallel zu jeder Leuchtdiode oder zu jedem Leuchtdiodenchip 11 ein Überbrückungsglied 13 angeordnet ist, welchesFIG. 3 shows a further development of the invention in which in parallel with each light-emitting diode or with each light-emitting diode chip 11 a bridging member 13 is arranged, which

Für die f. is automatically activated when the diode path 11 is electrically interrupted. Such bridging songs
are basically known. They are semiconductor components
with essentially the same voltage drop as one
single light emitting diode or a single light emitting diode chip.

following LEDs 11 the same operating state as
