Der Arbeitsgang ist folgender:The process is as follows:
Nachdem die Bohrmaschine an dem zu bohrenden Balken befestigt und der Bohrer α in der Hohlspindel b so weit vorgeschoben worden ist, daß derselbe aus der Scheibe c etwas hervorragt, wird die Kurbel d gedreht und di.e Stellschraube e etwas angezogen, wodurch das Segmentstück/ mit der Flachstahlfeder g auf den äußeren Umfang der Scheibe c gedrückt und diese in ihrer Drehbewegung gehemmt wird. Die Scheibe c greift in die Spiralnut des Bohrers ein. Durch Festhalten der Scheibe c schiebt sich der Bohrer α sofort bis zu dem Balken vor. Sobald die Gewindespitze des Bohrers α genügend Holz gefaßt hat, wird die Stellschraube e wieder gelöst, und arbeitet sich nunmehr der Bohrer α mit Hilfe seiner Gewindespitze in -bekannter Weise in den Balken hinein. Um den Bohrer nach dem Durchbohren des Balkens wieder zurückzuholen, wird die Stellschraube e fest angezogen und hierdurch die Scheibe c festgestellt.
