Der Zweck der Wärmepumpe ist es die Energie von einem niederen Temperaturniveau auf ein höheres zu bringen. Es ist bekannt, daß für Heizungszwecke in neuerer Zeit Wärmepumpen eingesetzt werden. Dabei ist die elektrisch angetriebene Wärmepumpe sehr fraglich, da der Wirkungsgrad zur Erzeugung des elektrischen Stromes in die Gesamtwdrmebilanz mit einbezogen werden muß. Wärmepumpen angetrieben von Verbrennungsmotoren sind hier wärmetechnlsch wesentlich besser, erfordern aber einen teuren Dieselmotor und sind außerdem auf flüssige oder gasförmige Brennstoffe angewiesen. Der Dampf wird in geschlossenem Kreislauf wieder kondensiert, wobei die Kondensationswärme an das Heizungs· wasser für die Wohnungsheizung abgegeben wird.
