Bei den meisten der jetzigen Farbwerke mit zwei und mehr Auftragwalzen für Buchdruckschnellpressen genügt die vorderste Auftragwalze
ihrem Zweck, die Form vollständig einzufärben, nur auf dem Vorwärtsgange, jedoch
nicht auf dem Rückwege. Dies erklärt sich aus dem Bestreben, im Interesse einer gedrängten Bauart der Maschine den Karrenweg
so kurz als möglich zu halten und demzufolge auch die Form nur sehr wenig aus dem Bereich der vordersten Auftragwalze hinausgehen
zu lassen. Der die genannte Auftragwalze mit Farbe versehende Stahlreiber
ist gegenüber der Auftfagwalze so angeordnet, daß letztere mindestens eine halbe Umdrehung
ausführen muß, bis der frisch mit Farbe versehene Teil ihres Umfanges der Form gegenüber
zu liegen kommt. Das hat zur Folge, daß sich die Auftragwalze beim Hubwechsel des Karrens nicht so weit gedreht hat, um die
zurückgehende Form vollständig wieder mit frischer Farbe zu versehen. Diesem Übelstand
abzuhelfen ohne den Bau der Maschine zu verlängern, ist das den Gegenstand vorliegender
Erfindung bildende Farbwerk für Buchdruckschnellpressen berufen. Das Farbwerk besitzt zu diesem Zweck einen fortlaufend
mit frischer Farbe versehenen Stahlreiber, der so weit vor bzw. nach unten gegen die
Form zu gelagert ist, daß sich die vorderste Auftragwalze beim Karrenhubwechsel nur um
einen kleinen Teil ihres Umfanges drehen muß, um die frisch erhaltene Farbe an die Form,
