Area of application and state of the art

The invention relates to a device for stopping dogs, wherein the attachment to the animal is such that the device can be easily put on and, if necessary, triggered remotely so that the dog is forced to stop safely.

Devices of this type are known, for example, as so-called tele-tact devices that a dog wears around its neck and are remote-controlled. If the transmitter is activated, a signal is triggered at the receiver, which is on the dog's collar, and the dog receives a short electric shock or a gas that smells unpleasant to the animal is sprayed.
This is intended to stop the dog if necessary or to correct other bad behavior.

It is not possible to force dogs to stop safely using electrical stimulation and gas pressure devices because the animals are frightened by the electric shock or the rapid release of gas and run away in panic.

The invention specified in claim 1 is based on the problem of creating a device that allows dogs to move freely and without restriction when the device is closed and, when the device is triggered, to cause the dog to safely stop or move only extremely slowly.

Solution

The problem is solved with the features listed in claim 1.

The invention ensures that the dog can move freely and without restriction in the normal, i.e. closed, state of the telescopic rod.

If the telescopic rod is opened (extended) by remote control, the animal is forced to stop without causing pain or great shock (as with electric shock or gas pressure devices, for example), and can thus be stopped if the animal wants to cross a busy road, chases joggers and cyclists, or otherwise attacks or harasses people.

The invention generally achieves that the dog can be made to stop at any time and in all dangerous situations for both humans and animals, without causing the animal unnecessary pain.

An embodiment of the invention is explained with reference to Figs. 1 and 2.

In Fig.1, the telescopic rod (1) is closed and fixed high up on the rope (3) so that the animal can move freely.

If the telescopic rod (1) is unlocked by means of a remote release, it falls down the rope (3) to the desired height, jumps apart at the same time and prevents the animal from walking or running any further.

The telescopic rod can then be returned to its starting position automatically or manually.

1. Device for stopping pets, in particular dogs or pets in general, to which the device can be detachably attached to the collar.
