Furniture handle

The invention relates to a furniture handle which can be attached to the outside of a front furniture component, preferably to the front panel of a drawer or a door.

Furniture handles are known in many designs. They protrude a relatively large amount from the visible surface of the furniture component. If such handles are not desired, so-called recessed handles are used, which at least partially engage with the front component of a piece of furniture. The disadvantage of these recessed handles is that the furniture manufacturer has to mill a corresponding recess into the front component of the furniture.

Especially with furniture for the living area, it is now common for a sliding wall to be pushed in front of the front part of the furniture. This sliding wall is preferably made of glass and should be positioned as close as possible to the front surface of the furniture.

In such a design, the usual furniture handles would require a relatively large distance, which is not desired.

The invention is based on the object of designing a furniture handle of the type described in more detail at the outset in such a way that the required distance between its front and visible surface and the visible surface of the furniture component is extremely small, so that the sliding wall can be at the smallest possible distance from the front surface of the furniture.

The task is solved in that the furniture handle consists of a stop part that can be fixed to the furniture component and a handle part that is pivotally mounted on it.

The pivoting mounting of the handle part now makes it possible to grasp the handle part by hand in order to move the furniture component, which changes the distance to the furniture component. This distance is greater than the space between the front surface of the furniture and the inner surface of the sliding wall, which was pushed to the side before the furniture component was operated. To ensure that the handle part does not accidentally remain in its pivoted-out position, so that the sliding wall would hit it, it is provided that the handle part can be pivoted automatically into a pivoted-in position under its own weight, with the pivot axis lying close to the upper edge of the furniture handle. It is particularly advantageous if the stop part is made in one piece and is H-shaped and if the handle part lies essentially within the outer basic contour of the stop part in the pivoted-in position.

The furniture handle then consists of two parts, whereby the one-piece design of the stop part makes assembly easier, as only one part needs to be attached to the furniture component. The &EEgr; shape offers the advantage that the handle part lies between the two parallel legs in the pivoted-in position, so that no protruding parts or surfaces are created.

In the pivoted-in position of the handle part, the front side of the furniture handle facing away from the furniture component is to be regarded as having a smooth surface, if one disregards the joints between the parallel legs and the handle part.

In this case, the handle part is to be regarded as a flat body or the like. The smooth surface in the pivoted-in position of the handle part can be achieved in the simplest way if the middle leg connecting the parallel legs of the stop part, with its front position facing away from the furniture component, offsets from the front surfaces of the parallel legs in the direction of the stop surface. This creates free space for the handle part .

In order to prevent the middle leg from becoming too thin, it is further provided that the associated area of the handle part is offset in the direction of its front surface.

The mounting of the handle part on the stop part is particularly simple in terms of construction if the parallel legs of the H-shaped stop part have two aligned recesses on one edge , into which the outwardly projecting bearing pins of the handle part are pivotally mounted. Once the stop part is attached to the furniture component together with the handle part, the handle part can no longer be separated from the stop part.

The stop part is attached using screws, for example. It is therefore intended that the stop part has at least two threaded holes that extend from the stop surface. The handle part is expediently designed in the form of a plate, with the surface associated with the bearing pin being designed as an inclined surface in such a way that the handle part forms an acute angle to the furniture component in the swivelled-out position . Leaving the handle in the extended position ensures that it automatically falls back into the retracted position as soon as the handle is released.

The manufacture of the stop part and the handle part is particularly easy if they are made from metal using a die-casting process. This also results in smooth surfaces and high dimensional accuracy.

According to Figure 2, the stop surface 13 rests against a front furniture component 14, not shown in detail.

The handle part 12 is a flat part and is equipped on one side with two protruding bearing pins 15 which are aligned with one another and engage in correctly arranged recesses 16 of the parallel webs 11a, 11b. In the assembled state according to Figure 2, the handle part 12 can therefore no longer fall out of the stop part 11.

According to the illustration in Figure 2, the handle part 12 can be pivoted about a horizontal axis which lies in the upper regions of the parallel webs 11a, 11b in the stop part 11.

It can be seen from Figure 2 that the handle part 12 automatically falls into the rest position shown in Figure 4 under its own weight. The front surface of the handle part 12 facing away from the furniture component 14 or the stop surface 13 is then aligned with the front surfaces of the parallel webs 11a, 11b of the stop part 11. The middle area of the handle part 12 is retracted, which makes it possible for the front surfaces of the parallel webs 11a, 11b and the handle part 12 to be aligned.

The surfaces of the handle part 12 that are perpendicular to the parallel webs 11a, 11b are designed as inclined surfaces, so that the inclined surface associated with the bearing pin 15 rests against the front surface of the furniture component 14 at a certain angular position. This makes it impossible for the handle part 12 to be pivoted into a position that is perpendicular to the furniture component 14. This ensures that it automatically falls back into the hanging rest position. The inclined surface opposite the bearing pin 15 makes it easier to grip the handle part 12 by hand.

The furniture handle 10 in question is, for example, manufactured using the zinc die-casting process.

The furniture handle according to the invention can be produced in different widths. Thus, contrary to the illustrations, the handle part 12 could be considerably narrower, for example, correspond to the width of one of the parallel webs 11a or 11b.

The stop part 11 is provided with two threaded holes 17 which are made in the parallel webs 11a, 11b and extend forwards from the stop surface 13. The furniture handle 10 is fastened to the furniture component 14 by means of screws screwed into these threaded holes 17.

The invention is not limited to the embodiment shown. What is important is that the furniture handle 10 consists of the stop part 11 and the handle part 12, and that the handle part 12 automatically falls back into the rest position.

Claims (9)

1. Furniture handle which can be attached to the outside of a front furniture component, preferably to the front panel of a drawer or to a door, characterized in that the furniture handle ( 10 ) consists of a stop part ( 11) which can be fixed to the furniture component (14 ) and a handle part ( 12 ) which is pivotally mounted thereon. 2. Furniture handle according to claim 1, characterized in that the handle part ( 12 ) can be pivoted automatically into the pivoted-in position by its own weight, the pivot axis running horizontally and lying in the upper region of the furniture handle ( 10 ). 3. Furniture handle according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the stop part ( 11 ) is formed in one piece and is H-shaped, and that the handle part ( 12 ) in the pivoted-in position lies substantially within the outer basic contour of the stop part ( 11 ). 4. Furniture handle according to claim 3, characterized in that the middle leg ( 11c ) connecting the parallel webs ( 11a , 11b ) of the stop part ( 11 ) springs relative to the front surfaces of the parallel webs ( 11a , 11b ) in the direction of the stop surface ( 13 ). 5. Furniture handle according to claim 3 or 4, characterized in that the region of the inner surface of the handle part ( 12 ) associated with the middle leg ( 11c ) of the stop part ( 11 ) projects in the direction of the front surface. 6. Furniture handle according to one or more of the preceding claims 1-5, characterized in that the parallel webs ( 11 a, 11 b) of the H-shaped stop part ( 11 ) have two aligned recesses ( 16 ) on one edge, which extend from the stop surface ( 13 ). 7. Furniture handle according to one or more of the preceding claims 1-6, characterized in that two outwardly projecting bearing pins ( 15 ) are formed on the handle part ( 12 ), which engage in the recesses ( 16 ) for pivotable mounting of the handle part ( 12 ). 8. Furniture handle according to one or more of the preceding claims 1-7, characterized in that the handle part ( 12 ) is plate-shaped, wherein the surface assigned to the bearing pin ( 15 ) and running transversely to the parallel webs ( 11 a, 11 b) is designed as an inclined surface such that the handle part ( 12 ) in the pivoted-out position encloses an acute angle to the furniture component ( 14 ). 9. Furniture handle according to one or more of the preceding claims 1-8, characterized in that the stop part ( 11 ) and the handle part ( 12 ) are made of metal by die-casting.
