Description
AUSGEGEBEN AM 6. FEBRUAR 1920ISSUED ON FEBRUARY 6, 1920
Im Verfolge der Verfahren des HauptpatentsFollowing the proceedings of the main patent
■ ganges enthalten, so daß dann ein derartiges Arbeiten statthat, daß man von einer buchstäblichen Überführung von Chloralkalien mittels Salpetersäure in Alkalinitrat und Salzsäure reden kann.■■ -; ' 299001 and the first additional patent 299007 it was found that two of the main goals of this process, namely the separation of alkali nitrates from low-concentration nitric acid-water mixtures while preserving the valuable free energy of the acidic hydrogen ion of nitric acid, can also be achieved if one be in place of the alkali metal sulfates, the choir alkalis used, but under single - or merely substitute wise - introduction of alkali sulfate, or sulfuric acid in a Alkalibisulfat the intended production corresponding dimensions in the course of the procedure. . The method described below now consists in using a suitable amount of alkali sulfate, in accordance with the method of the main patent 299001 and the first additional patent, to produce a certain amount of alkali nitrate from nitric acid and water on the one hand and thereby a certain equivalent of alkali bisulfate - more or less with Mixed alkali sulphate - which is now supposed to act as a reaction vehicle for the chlorine-alkaline substances. This is because the alkali metal bisulphate obtained is then allowed to act in any known manner in such amounts of chlorine-alkali that neutral alkali-metal sulphate and hydrochloric acid are formed. A quantum equivalent to the solid alkali nitrate which has been precipitated is formed from the latter, while the original amount of alkali sulphate is formed again and can be fed to the first stage of the process. While the alkali sulphate produced in this way has already received a large part of its alkali content from the chlor-alkali, the alkali introduced by means of the original alkali sulphate has already separated from the alkali nitrate process. On the other hand, the SQ 4 ion goes through both processes and every further part of the process without changing - apart from losses that cannot be avoided in a technical operation. After repeating the process several times, there is finally nothing left of the alkali from which the alkali sulphate originated in the products of labor. They contain ganges, so that such work then takes place that one can speak of a literal conversion of chlorine-alkalis by means of nitric acid into alkali metal nitrate and hydrochloric acid.
In accordance with the method described here, one proceeds, for example, initially as follows was given in the examples of the main patent and the first additional patent and then uses the residue which, after the complete expulsion of the nitric acid,
Die verbleibende Mutterlauge wird der Destillation unterworfen, bis alle Salpetersäure vertrieben ist, worauf der ganze Gang der Operationen mit neuem Chlorkalium wieder einsetzt.remains and about ioo kg free sulfuric acid equivalent Alkalibisulfat represents, to the first reaction vötf "'fck> kg technical Chlorkalittjtn ,.;, Zujvjdi ^ ejjn 5S # cke is?' crushes the Alkalibisulfat and with the coarse-grained potassium chloride mixed in a with stirring device and Muffle provided with a gas vent and heatable from the outside is introduced and gradually heated, avoiding melting phenomena, until almost all of the potassium chloride is converted into potassium sulfate and all of the hydrochloric acid is driven off About 25 percent hydrochloric acid and 200 kg of potassium sulphate are obtained. The latter is used in turn to feed the trickle and absorption tower described in the example of the first additional patent Heat in turn potassium nitrate is eliminated. The remaining mother liquor is subjected to distillation until all the nitric acid has been driven off, whereupon the whole process of operations with new potassium chloride begins again.
Durch das neue Verfahren bietet sich ein ganz neues Anwendungs- !Compared to the method of the main patent, the one described here has the advantage that one in the production of alkali nitrates from nitric acid-water mixtures instead of Alkali sulphates can originate from the even cheaper chlor-alkali. It also allows to arrive at free hydrochloric acid in a completely new way from chlor-alkalis without at all to have to produce free sulfuric acid first. With the new process offers a whole new application!
B. in manchen Gebieten der deutschen Salzlagerstätten —, einen weiteren der hauptsächlichsten Grundstoffe der chemischen Industrie unter völliger oder weitgehender Vermeidung einer Herstellung von Schwefelsäure, nämlich Salzsäure, zu gewinnen.area for the nitric acid-water mixtures, as they are in the more modern processes for Extraction of nitric acid from air or ammonia in large quantities. And it this procedure indeed offers a way to get to those places where probably the production of nitric acid is economical, but sulfuric acid is less profitable can be procured - e.g. B. in some areas of the German salt deposits -, another of the chief raw materials of the chemical industry among total or largely avoiding the production of sulfuric acid, namely hydrochloric acid to win.
The sulfuric acid to start the process does not primarily need to be in form of alkali sulfate to be present; as a source for the sulfuric acid can also other sulphates that may be present as waste are used, which then initially with suitable alkali salts are converted into alkali sulfate, which in turn is then converted into the Process is used.
The following can be cited as an example of such a procedure: 500 liters of an iron sulphate solution which falls off, for example, from sheet metal pickling and which contains about 25 percent SO 4 ion, are reacted with about 10 g of calcined soda, and the resulting solution of sodium sulphate is removed from the The precipitated mixture of iron oxides and iron carbonates is filtered off. The solution is evaporated to dryness, the sodium sulfate obtained in this way is mixed with about 140 liters of weak nitric acid at 24 ° * and the rest of the procedure is now as described above.
