Die behandelte Person muß daher mit der auf eine Stelle ihres Körpers aufliegenden Packung in Ruhe liegen bleiben. Zur Auflage auf ein Gesicht und zur Behandlung eines Gesichtes eignet sich diese bekannte Packung nicht. Sie ist zu groß, zu schwer und vor allen Dingen zu steif, um ohne Zwischenraum auf der profilierten Oberfläche eines Gesichtes aufzuliegen und dadurch den Übergang von Wärme oder Kälte auf das Gesicht sicherzustellen.A so-called contoured heat or cold pack is known from EP-PS 521 113. An vor- und/oder zurückspringenden Gesichtsbereichen ist er ausgespart und/oder vorgewölbt. Damit ist die Maske ideal an die Kontur des Gesichts angepaßt. An dem am stärksten vorspringenden Teil des Gesichts, der Nase, ist sie entweder ausgespart, so daß die Nase freiliegt, die benachbarten Gesichtsbereiche aber vollflächig von ihr berührt werden, oder sie ist vorgewölbt, so daß sie den Nasenrücken und auch die Nasenflügel auf deren gesamter Fläche innig berührt. Das gleiche gilt für die Ausbildung der Maske an den vorspringenden Lippen und dem vorspringenden Kinn. Im Bereich der Augenhöhlen, die vertieft liegen, ist die Maske ausgespart. Nach einer Zeitspanne in der Größenordnung von zehn bis fünfzehn Minuten hat die Maske ihre Kälte oder Wärme auf das Gesicht übertragen. Falls die Kälte- oder Wärmebehandlung fortgesetzt werden soll, wird die Maske gelöst, abgenommen und eine neue gekühlte oder erwärmte aufgelegt. Falls eine Behandlung mit mehreren Masken von Anfang an beabsichtigt war, wird man mehrere Masken in den Kühlschrank, das Gefrierfach oder das Wärmefach einlegen. Je nach der Behandlungsart und der Empfindlichkeit der Gesichtshaut der behandelten Person wird der Stofflappen untergelegt. Die erfindungsgemäße Maske läßt sich mühelos und einwandfrei waschen, reinigen oder desinfizieren.
