The subject of the present er-. invention forming vacuum drying and impregnation plant has a multitude (battery) of relatively small vessels for holding and melting impregnation compound. For coils of electrical machines and apparatus, this is what is known as compound mass. Opposite to known systems with only one relatively large melting vessel, this new arrangement initially has the very important Advantage that the impregnation compound only needs to be melted a little more, than is needed at the moment. This is of great importance because impregnation compounds of delicate composition, such as B. the compound masses, gradually increasing in value through frequent melting Constituents and properties lose, and because there are considerable losses in quantity. Of course, melting a relatively small amount of impregnation compound also requires a smaller amount of heat and shorter time than a large amount, therefore the new arrangement provides savings, of which the one that is important is the time of the work process is shortened significantly. Another advantage of this arrangement arises when one considers that from the wall of a melting vessel, which for the latter The mass to be melted forms the heat source, a temperature gradient towards the middle of the vessel is available, the wall must therefore be heated so high that the Temperature also _ in the middle of the mass, i.e. at the points furthest away from the wall of the cavity of the melting vessel, the melting temperature is reached. That temperature gradient grows with the distance from the wall, so the greater the width of the melting vessel, the greater it is. Well tolerated but certain impregnating masses composed of delicate substances, such as B. Compounds, no significant increase in temperature above the melting temperature, otherwise burn they or are otherwise impaired. By now melting vessels of relatively small width are used, the risk is averted that the parts initially located on the heated walls the mass to be melted could be burned or that there mass that has become unusable could form a hard crust, which similar to what boiler scale does in a steam boiler, make it more difficult to achieve economic efficiency would significantly affect the operation in several respects.
The drawing shows an exemplary embodiment. FIG. 1 is a horizontal valley section, FIG. 2 is a section along the line AB in FIG. 1.
The heatable, for receiving the objects to be dried and impregnated, provided at the top with a nozzle s for connecting the line from an air pump container α is by means of a tube r opening at its bottom
The cap c opposite the tube r allows the introduction of a cleaning device. The part of each branch line located between the gate valve d and the pipe r is surrounded by a heating jacket. In the example shown, the vessels b are provided with a double jacket and double bottom so that they can be heated with steam or hot water or oil. In the middle of the vessels there is a pipe q which is connected to the heating jacket and therefore also serves as a heat source for the mass to be melted in the vessel without hindering the installation of a stirrer, which may be useful.
The vessels b could also be built onto the container α , that is to say connected to it to form a constructive whole.
Die Werkstücke werden im Behälter«, nachdem dieser verschlossen und luftleer gemachtThe workpieces are placed in the container after it has been closed and evacuated
Thereafter, the b in one of the vessels molten Im- 25 is prägniermasse, after opening of the said vessel α with the container connecting branch line d switched slider, brought over by the after removing the cover of the relevant vessel acting external air pressure in 30 the container α. Any excess impregnating compound is returned to a vessel, for example by letting in compressed air through the nozzle.
