Headgear with sweatband

It is known to provide headgear, such as caps, hats, etc., with a sweatband around the head in the contact area, which can absorb sweat and prevent it from seeping through to the outside of the headgear. Furthermore, sweatbands are usually made of a skin-friendly material made of fabric or leather to improve comfort.

It is known to sew such sweatbands firmly into the headgear. This has the disadvantage that sweaty or dirty sweatbands can only be cleaned together with the entire headgear, which is often difficult or even impossible depending on the material of the headgear. Even with headgear materials that are washable, frequent washing is undesirable, as the appearance and properties of the material usually suffer from frequent washing. The result is that sweatbands become unhygienic over time.

The invention is therefore based on the object of creating a head covering in which unhygienic, dirty sweatbands can be avoided.

In the headgear according to the invention, the sweatband is removably attached to a mounting part of the headgear.

The idea behind the invention is therefore that the sweatband is no longer sewn firmly into the headgear, but rather is simply attached detachably, preferably using a Velcro fastener, so that it can be easily removed and washed without the entire headgear having to be washed or cleaned. If the sweatband is very worn or damaged, it can easily be replaced with a new one without any seams having to be undone.

5 The sweatband is preferably made of foam, fleece, terry cloth or leather on the side facing the head. The sweatbands can be made in different colors, either from the same outer material as the headgear or from other materials that match the color of the outer material of the headgear.

The removable sweatband can be used with all types of headwear, such as baseball caps, uniform caps or regular hats.

The length of the sweatband should be the same as the circumference of the headgear attachment part in the fastening area.

Figures 1 and 2 show a head covering in the form of a baseball or peaked cap, which in the usual way consists of a dome-shaped attachment part 1 adapted to the head and a peak part 2 which extends forwards over the attachment part 1 and serves as a shade for the eyes.

The sweatband 3 can be detachably connected to a fastening band 6 designed as a hook band, which is sewn onto the lower edge of the attachment part 1 of the headgear, i.e. onto the outer fabric 7. The lower edge of the attachment part 1 can be folded upwards, as can be seen from Figure 3, in which case the fastening band 6 and the sweatband 3 are pulled over the upward-pointing end 8 of the outer fabric 7.

The width of the welding band 3, i.e. the vertical dimension as shown in Figures 1 and 3, is at least substantially equal to that of the fastening band 6.

Instead of the arrangement shown in Figure 3, it is also conceivable to provide the removable sweatband 3 with a fleece layer and the fastening band 6 sewn onto the attachment part 1 with a fleece layer.

It is important that the sweatband 3 can be repeatedly removed from the rest of the headgear and reattached using a Velcro fastener. This makes it easy to clean and, if necessary, replace the sweatband 3.

Headgear according to claim 1, characterized in that the sweatband (3) is held on the attachment part (1) of the headgear by means of a Velcro fastener. 3. Headgear according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the sweatband (3) is detachably secured to a fastening band (6) sewn onto the attachment part (1) and on its side facing the fastening tape (6) has a fleece layer (5), while the fastening tape (6) is designed as a hook tape. 4. Headgear according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the width of the sweatband (3) corresponds to that of the fastening strap (6). 5. Headgear according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the sweatband (3) consists of a washable material. 6. Headgear according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the sweatband (3) on its side facing the head consists of foam, fleece, terry cloth or leather. 7.
