Um bei Teebeuteln Aromaverluste zu vermeiden, ist es bekannt, diese in aus einem geruchundurchlässigen Werkstoff hergestellten und versiegelten Umverpackungen zu lagern. Wird einer auf diese Weise bevorrateter Aufgußbeutel benötigt, wird die Umverpackung aufgeschnitten oder aufgerissen, und der Teebeutel wird der Umverpackung entnommen. Ein neuerliches Verschließen dieser Verpackung ist jedoch nicht möglich, so daß der in den verbleibenden Teebeuteln befindliche Tee ausriecht und seine Aromastoffe nach und nach verliert. Ist eine Umverpackung nämlich geöffnet worden, ist diese zur Bevorratung weiterer Teebeutel demnach nicht mehr geeignet.In order to avoid loss of aroma from tea bags, it is known to store them in sealed outer packaging made of an odor-impermeable material.
