Möbeleinbau-HalogenstrahlerFurniture-mounted halogen spotlights
The invention relates to a halogen spotlight according to the preamble of claim 1.
It is characterized by a - compared to the standard thin-walled short-cylindrical housings available on the market - very thick-walled, solid radiator housing with an integrated heat sink to absorb the heat loss radiation of a halogen lamp, preferably fed with low voltage. The housing, which is made primarily from light metal injection molding, has an approximately M-shaped diametrical cross-section, with the transition area of an inner leg to the adjoining outer leg being thickened to form a solid, ring-shaped heat sink. Behind this - between the free ends of the M-shaped outer legs and their central apex, which results from the inclined meeting of the inner legs - an air duct also runs in a ring shape. This arrangement is recessed into a thin-walled, pot-shaped insulating housing made of heat-resistant plastic to provide thermal shielding for the heat sink and the air duct surrounding it against the mounting hole. Such a design has proven to be effective when it is necessary to avoid critical heating of the installation area when inserting the spotlight, for example in a panel board that is also exposed to convection on the back, and in particular to avoid exceeding the heating of 95°C in the wood in the immediate installation area, as permitted by VDE regulations, even with increased electrical lamp power. However, the disadvantage of this radiator from an application-oriented point of view, especially when it is installed in an environment without convection cooling, such as in display cabinets or other smaller, enclosed spaces, is that the waste heat accumulated in the heat sink at the center of the housing base is simultaneously concentrated locally in the immediate vicinity of the bottom of a blind assembly hole. There is an increasing tendency among manufacturers of, for example, inexpensive kitchen furniture to use only

It is difficult to work with thin chipboards that have a very low heat resistance coating, so that even with a constant temperature of only about 45 0 C, heat damage in the form of bubbles and cracks soon appears on the back of the blind mounting hole (e.g. on a display cabinet shelf or on the underside of a wall cupboard, i.e. on the usable and visible side). The heat-related cracks typically run on the coating side of the mounting board that is away from the spotlight installation, from the edge of the projection surface of the blind mounting hole outwards in a radial pattern, towards the wider surroundings. In the case of new furniture, such damage that occurs soon after the lamp has started operating is a reason for complaints.
Because the usable floor behind (above) the blind mounting hole, i.e. beyond the installation level of the spotlight, must be kept closed, such damage cannot be remedied by deepening the blind hole to form a through hole and then inserting a spotlight arrangement in it in accordance with DE 43 34 882 Al. This is because its effect, as far as influencing the heat distribution is concerned, is based (similar to DE 44 13 290 Al) on blocking the heat that is actually released with the light flux using an IR blocking filter disc and transferring it against the direction of light emission - through a so-called cold light lamp reflector and its apex opening as well as the through hole - back into the free space behind the drilled mounting board. There, the warm air flow is transferred along a cross-flow heat distribution plate made of heat-resistant mica material to a heat-dissipating convection flow, which enters the housing next to the light emission opening in the opposite direction of the radiation and then exits upwards from a housing opening behind the heat distribution plate. However, for the application envisaged here, it is not possible that the installation of radiator housing construction parts requires a hole in the cabinet floor or in a similar mounting plate and protrudes into the usable space; because the floor area above the radiator installation location should be uninterrupted and remain undamaged. This restriction applies accordingly if, according to WO 92/05389 A1, a solid ribbed hollow body is provided behind the reflector apex opening, between this and the heat distribution plate, to promote a chimney effect for concentrating the heat flow on the heat distribution plate. This radiator design is also unsuitable for the present application.
Denn vorliegender Erfindung liegt die technische Problemstellung zugrunde, einen Möbeleinbau-Halogenstrahler gattungsgemäßer Art so auszulegen, daß die Wärmebeanspruchung seinerThe present invention is based on the technical problem of designing a furniture-mounted halogen spotlight of the generic type in such a way that the thermal stress on its

Blind hole installation environment remains significantly below the permissible value and the value to be expected based on the electrical lamp power.
The solution to this problem identified in the main claim is based on the inventive idea, which is surprisingly effective in the end, of moving away from the proven measure according to DE 40 03 895 C2, for example, and no longer specifically dissipating the waste heat to a heat sink in close proximity to the installation environment, but - with the greatest possible thermal shielding of the radiator housing from the installation environment - to deliver the unavoidable waste heat radiation with the light radiation to the front. If a heat-sensitive object such as the edge of a cupboard door could temporarily be located under the radiator-equipped panel, then the radiator is expediently equipped with an automatic switch-off device according to DE 92 00 222 Ul, which responds reliably and immediately to reflections of the critical heat radiation; The assembly or functional problems or problems with mechanical switching cycle life referred to in DE 43 34 882 Al do not occur due to the contactless sensory reflex evaluation.
To illustrate the solution according to the invention in more detail, a preferred implementation example is shown in cross-section in the only figure of the drawing, in a further development of the equipment according to the main claim, not entirely to scale and somewhat simplified.
The actual lamp housing 11 of the low-voltage halogen spotlight 12, which is formed in the conventional manner with wall thicknesses in the order of just over one millimeter and in the usual installation dimensions from heat-resistant injection molding - intended for insertion into a furniture wooden floor or similar assembly board 16 - is recessed into a plastic outer housing 13, which is also heat-resistant, or is injection molded in one piece with it to form what is referred to below as an inner housing 11/13. This protrudes into a hip-shaped locking housing 38 with at least generous play on the sides. This sits force-fit in a pot-shaped insulation housing 14, which in turn is force-fitted in a built-in housing 39. The overall structure of the radiator 12, which is made up of several pot-shaped housings nested one inside the other in the form of a shell, is inserted in a force-fitting manner into the blind hole 15, which is open on the radiation side, of a relatively thin cabinet base that serves as a mounting board 16 for the radiator 12.
Floatglas thermisch möglichst hohe Transparenz aufweist, um die Verlustwärme der Lampe 18The lamp housing 11 is closed on the radiation side by a protective glass 17, which as so-called float glass has the highest possible thermal transparency in order to dissipate the heat loss of the lamp 18.

Behind and to the side of the halogen lamp 18 - which is oriented transversely to the housing axis 19 in the interest of a flat-cylindrical lamp housing 11 - there is the concave curvature of a lamp reflector 20. This is preferably deep-drawn from light metal sheet and, in addition to its bright, possibly even polished, reflection surface, it also has a thermally highly reflective coating 21 on it. In addition, the interior of the lamp housing 11 behind the lamp reflector 20 can also be equipped with a reflection layer 22, for example aluminum-coated or chrome-plated.
The lamp housing 11 is - if not formed in one piece - combined with the additional outer housing 13 to form the inner housing 11/13. Like this, the locking housing 38 located behind it is also injection-molded from plastic or light metal in the usual way with relatively thin walls but heat resistance for low-cost production. The latter is equipped with an inlaid mirror 23 in the form of a polished metal plate (e.g. made of aluminum) on its base 24, possibly also with a sheet metal strip running around the side wall 25.
The clear inner diameter of the hollow cylindrical or hollow prismatic locking housing 38 is significantly larger than the outer diameter of the inner housing 11/13, and its clear depth in front of the inserted mirror 23 may also be somewhat larger than that of the lamp inner housing 11/13. This leaves a heat-insulating rear and, above all, laterally circumferential free space 26 between the two housings 13/38 if the inner housing 11/13 is sunk concentrically here.
The blocking housing 38 is in turn inserted concentrically into the thick-walled, pot-shaped insulation housing 14 made of heat-insulating foam such as Styrofoam, which is open in the direction of radiation 10, and is held therein by friction. In this case, an axially flat, additionally heat-insulating air space 36 remains free, preferably behind the insulation housing 14, towards the bottom 34 of the blind hole installation bore 15. The front edge 30 of the pot-shaped wall 29 of the blocking housing 38, which faces in the direction of radiation 10, can easily protrude slightly from the insulation housing 14. The wall thicknesses of the insulating housing 14 are in the order of magnitude of at least five times the thin side and bottom wall thicknesses of the lamp inner housing 11/13 or of the not significantly weaker heat-insulating barrier housing 38 in order to avoid a thermal bridge from the front housing collar 31 to the rear into the mounting hole 15. For the same reason, an axial distance 42 remains from the front edge of the wall of the installation housing 39 to the barrier housing flange 41.

This porous insulating housing 14 is not directly clamped into the blind hole 15 of the mounting board 16, but rather is enclosed in the installation housing 39 to avoid abrasion and for the purpose of further thermal insulation. For this purpose, the surrounding wall of the installation housing 39 is equipped with radially resilient, slightly protruding clamping lugs 40 on its cylindrical outer surface.
The wide, circumferential pot wall front edge 30 of the insulating housing 14, oriented in the radiation direction 10, protrudes with a radially circumferentially protruding bead 43 into the plane of the installation surface 32 of the mounting board 16 in order to ensure the distance 42 and also to thermally shield the front edge area of the blind hole 15. The already radially expanded insulating housing front edge 30 is concealed on the visible side by the collar 31, which is convexly curved in the axial longitudinal section, far beyond its outer diameter, i.e. beyond the blind hole 15. It thus runs in sections, initially at an axial distance, approximately parallel to the flange 41, which protrudes slightly from the bore 15, in front of the wall 29 of the locking housing 38, but then approaches it in a radial direction until it rests against the plane of the installation surface 32. This delimits heat-insulating air cushions 33 adjacent to the circumferential free space 26. This flange-shaped collar 31 on the surrounding housing 13 on the light exit side covers the ring-shaped free space 26 on the visible side and holds the protective glass 17 inside it. When the surrounding housing 13 is lowered into the locking housing 38, the free outer edge of the collar 31 engages at a catch 28 with the correspondingly shaped edge of a radially outwardly projecting flange 41 which runs in front of the locking housing side wall 25 and thus projects radially beyond the thick pot wall of the thick-walled insulating housing 14 on the front side. For structural and geometric details, please refer to the illustration in the drawing.
This also applies to the bending tongues 44 molded onto the collar 31 parallel to the axis, which penetrate into correspondingly located axially parallel recesses 45 in the outer surface 46 of the installation housing 39 in order to positively engage behind locking tongues 47 that are molded radially protruding inside the recess 45. As a result, the visible housing collar 31 is connected to its outer installation housing 39 during the coaxial assembly of the spotlight 12, after the lamp supply line 48 has been led firstly parallel to the axis through their bases and finally radially out of the nested pot housings in front of or in the base of the installation housing 39.

The heat generated in the lamp 18 when it is in operation is therefore no longer conducted to the mounting board 16 by means of structural heat sinks, but is initially radiated forwards through the lamp reflector 20, i.e. in the light emission direction 10 away from the installation location. Any heat that nevertheless reaches behind the lamp reflector 20 is, if necessary, reflected forwards again by the mirrored lamp housing 11. The initially rearward radiation resulting from the heating of the inner housing 11/13 itself is reflected back in the radiation direction 10 by the mirror-coated blocking housing 38. Finally, its own heating is effectively prevented from passing over to the wall and the base 34 of the blind hole 15 by its enclosure in the insulating housing 14 and its heat-resistant installation in the mounting housing 39.
The thin base 33 remaining behind the blind hole 15 in the mounting board 16 is thus effectively thermally decoupled from the hot lamp 18. This special and overall comparatively low-profile housing staggering surprisingly produces a heat gradient in the order of 200 ° C. Critical heating in the wood, even in the order of half the value permitted for furniture-mounted spotlights 12 - and thus cracking of the wood coating on the usable surface 35 of the mounting board 16 serving as the furniture wooden base 34 in the area behind the blind hole 15 - is now reliably avoided; the usable surface 35 of the board 16 is no longer endangered by the operation of the hot lamp 18.
