Description
BeschreibungDescription
Kontaktkabel für galvanische TrommelwaVre.Contact cable for galvanic drum washing.
Contact cables of the usual design consist of an iron bulb with a flanged copper cable, a butt-fitting PVC protective hose and a cable lug on the opposite side as a termination.
Because the iron bulb is constantly moving in the drum and is constantly washed around by the galvanizing liquid (aggressive acid, alkali), after a short time the acid penetrates into the area between the butt-flanged protective hose and the iron bulb that needs protection, which in turn leads to the rapid destruction of the copper cable. As soon as the cable cross-section has become narrower due to the acid corrosion, the necessary current flow is reduced by the increase in resistance, which means that the contact cable becomes unusable after a short period of operation.
The invention specified in claim 1 is based on the aim of significantly increasing the service life of the contact cable. This is achieved by the recessed groove (5) in the iron bulb (1), into which the protective hose is inserted and then permanently pressed. This ensures absolute tightness between the protective hose (5) and the iron bulb (1).
The invention achieves that the service life of the contact cables is increased considerably due to the tightness of the connection between the iron bulb (1) and the protective hose (2), which reduces the procurement costs for this consumable item in the galvanizing plants and extends the cable replacement intervals. In the area of environmental protection, cable waste is also reduced, which has a positive effect on the energy used in production (copper, iron, PVC hose) and recycling due to the longer service life.
An advantageous extension of the invention is specified in claim 2. By using a PUR protective hose, the operating time is increased again, since damage to the protective hose caused by the material to be galvanized is reduced by the higher abrasion resistance.
