A separate gutter is regularly installed to drain any water that occurs.

The separate laying of curbs on the one hand and gutter stones on the other is complex. A so-called "curbstone gutter stone" is therefore already known, which consists of a section that takes on the function of a curbstone and a section that is formed in one piece with this and forms the function of a gutter stone.

The well-known curbstones tend to break because they are exposed to a wide range of stresses. The breaking edge is undefined and the breakage of the well-known curbstones can lead to the entire curbstone having to be replaced.

The invention is based on the object of creating a curbstone that can continue to be used without restriction even if it breaks.

According to the invention, this object is achieved in that a vertically extending separating joint with a predetermined breaking edge is provided between the curb section and the gutter section. This separating joint can, for example, extend over approximately half the height of the gutter section.

The invention is explained with reference to a drawing in which the only figure shows a side view of such a curbstone.

The curbstone consists of a curbstone section 10, the dimensions of which correspond to a standard curbstone (in the example shown, a high curbstone). Below the bevel 16 - which is standard for curbs - there is a gutterstone section 12, the dimensions of which correspond to a standard gutterstone.

Between the curb section 10 and the gutter section 12 there is a separating joint 14 which runs vertically in the installed position and extends over approximately half the height of the gutter section 12. In the lower area the gutter section 12 is made in one piece with the curb section 10 and is made of the same material.

The provision of the separating joint 14 proposed according to the invention means that when overloads occur, the gutter section 12 breaks off from the curb section 10, with the fracture line running exactly in an extension of the separating joint, i.e. strictly vertically. When such a fracture occurs, the curb gutter will break apart into a "normal" curb and a "normal" gutter. However, since the curb and the gutter remain intact, it is not necessary to replace the component.

The drawing also shows that a projecting web 18 is attached to the curb section 10, which serves to ensure the distance to the adjacent curbstone.
