The innovation relates to a cuttings collection container for document shredders or other shredding devices, in which the respective cutting mechanism and its housing rest on a box- or frame-like base with a solid base and the container can be pushed into the base from the front of the device under the cutting mechanism housing.

With such designs, on the one hand, tight tolerances are required between the clippings collection container and the base frame walls in order to minimize the escape of cutting particles and cutting dust into the room air. On the other hand, however, these tight spaces make it difficult to easily insert the clippings collection container into the base frame without jamming after it has been emptied.

The purpose of this innovation is therefore to eliminate the deficiencies mentioned above by means of suitable simple measures, primarily on the base of the container and the undercarriage.

This task is generally solved by the means and measures specified in claim 1. The subclaims contain advantageous structural designs and further developments of the new spatial form concept, which is also largely shown schematically using drawings and is explained in more detail and in terms of function using these representations below.

The system representation according to Fig. 1 initially shows, purely schematically or in terms of arrangement, a cuttings collection container for document shredders or other shredding devices, in which the respective cutting mechanism together with its housing rests on a box- or frame-like base with a solid base and the container is pushed into the base from the open front of the device under the cutting mechanism housing.

According to the detailed illustrations in Fig. 2 and 3, the special feature of this innovation is generally

in that in the base area 4a and 3b of the container 4 and the base frame 3, forced guide elements FN and FZ that can be brought into engagement with one another are arranged, whereby in a special structural design at least one guide groove FN made in the container base 4a and a corresponding guide pin FZ or the like on the base 3b of the base frame 3 serves as the forced guide element. For practical implementation, however, it is sensible to arrange the forced guide elements FN and FZ with a mutual horizontal distance on both sides of the container bases 3b and 4a.

In order to optimally ensure that the easy and jam-free insertion of the cuttings collection container into the base frame, as mentioned at the beginning of the task, is ensured, the innovation also provides in detail that the guide groove FN, which is open towards the rear of the container 4b, has a conically tapered insertion zone EZ, which is followed by a parallel-walled centering channel ZK and, further on, towards the front of the container 4c, another, conical taper KV to the actual fine centering zone FZZ, and the fine centering zone FZZ, which is also designed like a channel, has an extension H at its end that rises from the bottom of the container 4a.

The container 4 is removed from the base frame 3 by lifting it slightly in the direction of arrow ?2 in Fig. 1, also by the handle.

The channel-like pre-centering zone ZK in its cross-section, which also has a slightly rising course AV compared to the container base 4a towards the container rear 4b, causes the cuttings collection container 4 to slide slightly up on the guide pin FZ when it is inserted or removed and thus has only a low thrust resistance.

Finally, it is important for the overall function that a so-called switch flag is attached to one of the sides of the container in the upper front area, which, in conjunction with a limit switch, causes the drive of the cutting rollers 1 to stop when the cuttings collection container 4 is in the direction of arrow Pg.

(in Fig. 1) is removed from the base frame 3 which is open at the front 3a.

The switch flag also works in the same way when the container 4 is tilted forwards from its end position (Fig. 1) in the direction of arrow P in order to insert crumpled paper or other non-confidential documents; during this movement the guide pins FZ act as pivot points and the rear edge of the container acts as a limit stop for the tilting movement, whereby the container 4 falls back into its original position by itself after it is released.
