Reclining beds according to the preamble of claim 1 with back parts that can be pivoted up by motor from a horizontal lying position to a sitting position are generally known.

The present invention is based on the object of developing such a bed in such a way that the back part can also be used to support back deformations in the area of the lumbar vertebrae. This object is achieved by the characterizing features of claim 1.

An embodiment of the invention is explained below with reference to the drawing. In it:

The bed 1 has a frame 2 in which a gear motor 3 is pivotally mounted about an axis 4. The motor 3 drives a spindle (not shown) which engages in a nut thread at the end of a push rod 5 (not shown). The end of the rod 5 is hinged to a lever 7 which is rigidly connected to a cross shaft 6. On each side, a two-armed lever 8 is rigidly connected to the shaft 6. One arm 9 of the lever 8 carries a pivot bearing 10 for a pivot lever 11, the other end of which is hinged to the foot end 12 of a back part 13. The other arm 14 of the lever 8 carries a driving pin 15. A lever 20 is pivotally mounted on the shaft 6. At the end adjacent to the axis 6, it has a segment 21 with an arc-shaped longitudinal slot 22 into which the driving pin 15 engages. The free end of the lever 20 is connected to the back part 13 via a joint rod 23. Another lever 24 is pivotally mounted around the pivot axis 25 of the lever 11 at the end 12. Its other end has an elongated hole 26 which engages in a bolt 27 fixed to the frame. In the lying position (Figure 1) and in the sitting position (Figure 2), the upper edge of the elongated hole 26 rests on the bolt 27.

The arm 9 additionally has a driving pin 28 at a distance from the bearing 10, which cooperates with the lever 11.

When the back part 13 is swung up from the lying position according to Figure 1 into the sitting position according to Figure 2 by extending the push rod 5 using the motor 3, the foot end 12 of the back part 13 is moved towards the head end of the bed by the described construction of the levers 11, 24. This prevents a patient from being compressed in the pelvic area when the back part is swung up. If, for example, a hand is caught between the frame 2 and the frame 29 of the back part when swung down, the drive pin 15 continues to move in the longitudinal slot 22 so that the hand is only loaded with part of the weight of the back part and the person lying in the bed, but not with the power of the motor 3.

From the lying position (Figure 2), the back part 13 can now be swiveled up into a lumbar support position (Figure 3) by further pulling in the push rod 5 using the motor 3, whereby the drive pin 28 pushes the lever 11 up and the slot 26 slides on the pin 27. The head end 30 of the frame 29 rests on the frame 2 and the drive pin 15 slides in the slot 22. Even when lowering from the lumbar support position according to Figure 3, nothing can be jammed by the motor power because the drive pin 28 then simply swings away from the lever 11.

As can be seen from Figure 1, the driving pin 28 is still some distance from the lever 11 in the lying position. This results in a dead motion when transitioning from one swivel movement to the other. This makes it easier to stop in the lying position.

A socket 16 is welded onto the arm 9, onto which a torsion spring (not shown) is pushed. One end of the torsion spring rests on the shaft 6, the other on the lever 11 and presses it downwards. This improves stability in the lumbar support position.

Claims (9)

Expectations 1. A bed with a back part (13) which can be pivoted up by means of a motor (3) from a horizontal lying position into a sitting position in which the head-side end (29) of the back part (13) is raised, characterized in that by means of the same motor (3) the foot-side end (12) of the back part (13) can be pivoted up from the lying position into a lumbar support position in which the foot-side end (12) of the back part (13) is raised. 2. Bed according to claim 1, wherein in the lying position between the movement for pivoting up into the other two positions there is a dead gear in the gear train (5, 7, 9, 11, 28). 3. Bed according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the motor (3) actuates a first lever (8) via a spindle, the foot-side end (12) of the back part (13) is articulated to a second lever (11), and wherein on a first lever arm · (9) of the first lever (8) a driver (28) for pushing up the second lever (11) is arranged. 4. Bed according to claim 3, wherein the second lever (11) is hingedly connected to the first lever arm (9). 5. Bed according to claim 4, wherein at the foot end (12) of the back part (13) a third lever (24) is pivotally attached, which is guided by a slot (26) on a bolt (27) fixed to the frame. 6. Bed according to one of claims 3-5, wherein a second driver (15) is arranged on the first lever (8) for pivoting up a fourth lever (20), which is connected to the back part (13) via an articulated rod (23). 7. Bed according to claim 6, wherein the fourth lever (20) is pivotally mounted about the pivot axis (6) of the first lever (8). 8. Bed according to one of claims 3-7, wherein the second lever (11) is resiliently biased downwards. 9. Bed according to one of claims 1-8, wherein the gear connections are designed such that the back part (13) cannot be pushed into the lying position from either swivel position using the power of the motor (3).
