" Abzweigrohr mit von außen verstellbarer Regenwasserklappe zur Regenwassersammlung mit: automatischer Zu- und Überlauf regelung und Umstellmöglichkeit auf Winterbetrieb" Branch pipe with externally adjustable rainwater flap for rainwater collection with: automatic inflow and overflow control and option to switch to winter operation
Tap water (drinking water) is becoming increasingly valuable and expensive, while rainwater is available for free. - Collecting rainwater from the gutter is therefore becoming increasingly important, both in the home and in the garden. The previous options in the form of externally mounted rain flaps or rain collectors in the downpipe are not suitable for quickly filling large-volume containers smoothly and without water loss, and also for optimally regulating the overflow. With the usual rain flap, the overflow must be monitored and the flap must be reset in good time - in addition, the container must be positioned close underneath and open, which in turn can mean additional pollution.
The disadvantages of the rain collector in the downpipe are the low cross-section of the supply line (about the thickness of a thumb!) to the container, which is a result of the design, and the associated vulnerability and high maintenance frequency. In addition, filling it in this way is a lengthy affair, as a lot of rainwater flows unused through the central opening into the sewer system, while only a small part can flow through the thin hose to the container.
The effectiveness of such a device can be summed up in a comparatively^! proverb: "When it rains porridge, you have no spoon!"
Fig. 3,1) sein kann und auf einer Achse drehbar (Fig. 1,3, Fig. 2,3, Fig. 3,3, Fig. 4,3A und Fig. 5,3) im Abzweigrohr (Fig. 1,15 u. The invention of the externally adjustable oval rainwater flap for installation in a conventional branch piece with automatic inflow and overflow control as well as the option to switch to winter operation provides a remedy here in that the oval flap (Fig. 3,1), which can be curved (Fig. 1,IA and Fig. 4,1A) or flat (Fig. 2,1 and Fig. 3,1) and can be rotated on an axis (Fig. 1,3, Fig. 2,3, Fig. 3,3, Fig. 4,3A and Fig. 5,3) in the branch pipe (Fig. 1,15 and Fig. 2,15) is arranged in such a way that when the container is filled according to the symbol on the rotary wheel (Fig. 3,10), the entire

Rainwater falling from the downpipe is intercepted and passed on without loss directly to the container (rain barrel, large above-ground or underground container) and with this position of the flap the overflow/backflow can automatically flow unhindered into the usual sewer system through the remaining opening (Fig. 2, arrow "return flow") below the lower edge of the flap (Fig. 1,19 and Fig. 2,19). In addition, the flap can be set to the vertical position from the outside using the rotary wheel (Fig. 1,2, Fig. 2,2 and Fig. 3,2) in accordance with the symbol (Fig. 3,11), whereby the rainwater flows into the sewer system in the conventional way without being used. This position can be selected when no more inflow to the container is desired, for example when cleaning work, removing the container, or generally during the winter to prevent ice from forming on above-ground containers. The rotary wheel (Fig. 1,2, Fig. 2,2 and Fig. 3,2) is designed in such a way that it has a central conical recess (Fig. 1,7, Fig. 3,7) with a square opening (Fig. 3,20) through which the axle (Fig. 1,3t, Fig. 2,3, Fig. 3,3, Fig. 4,3A and Fig. 5,3), which is square at least in front of the thread, is passed and is screwed onto the outside of the branch piece using a spring (Fig. 1,4, Fig. 2,4 and Fig. 3,4), a washer (Fig. 1,5 and Fig. 3,5) and a nut (Fig. 1,6 and Fig. 3,6).
The rotary wheel has a large bulge on the back (Fig. 3,13) and in this, a smaller bulge (Fig. 3,12), which allows this rotary wheel to be used for both branches with a nominal width of 100 mm and for a nominal width of 70 mm. - The flap can also be adjusted in a simplified manner externally using a simple lever (e.g. an extension of the central axis), which can be locked to the outer wall of the branch piece using holding points.
Die Klappe kann' auf unterschiedliche Art und Weise auf der Achse, nachdem diese durch ein zuvor in die Außenwand des Abzweigstückes gebohrte Öffnung geführt wurde, montiert werden und zwar auf einer Vierkantachse (Fig.- 4,3A), die durch einen unter der Klappe befindlichen Vierkantkanal·(Fig. 4,14) geschoben wird, oder sinngemäß auf einer Rundachse, die mit einer Schraube oder einemThe flap can be mounted in different ways on the axle, after it has been guided through an opening previously drilled in the outer wall of the branch piece, namely on a square axle (Fig. 4.3A), which is pushed through a square channel (Fig. 4.14) located under the flap, or analogously on a round axle, which is fastened with a screw or a
Splint fest mit der Klappe verbunden wird.Splint is firmly connected to the flap.
Fig. 5,9) zusätzlich abgesichert werden kann.Last but not least, there is also the possibility of using an axle to
a tab attached to the underside of the flap, here
optionally triangular shape (Fig. 3,8), shaped in such a way (Fig. 3,3 and Fig. 5,3) that it can be clamped into it and additionally secured with a nut (Fig. 3,9 and Fig. 5,9).
To ensure that even in the case of exceptionally long, torrential rain, the "overflow automatic"
still works, the flap can also have a central opening
(Fig. 6,16) which is surrounded by a raised edge (Fig. 6, 17).
In order to operate this system as quietly as possible (in case dripping noises occur), the flap could be coated. It would also be conceivable to cover it with rubber; for example, old car tires (recycled tires)', because rubber in particular is an excellent noise-insulating material.
