Women's panty liner

The innovation concerns a panty insert for so-called thong briefs, consisting of at least one layer that is absorbent at least on the body side and has an at least partially solidified surrounding edge.

Such panty liners are well known and in use. Apart from simple strip cuts with rounded ends and a continuous width of around 5 cm with parallel longitudinal edges, there are also inserts that are better adapted to the anatomy or crotch and have a narrower intermediate part between circular or elliptical front and back parts with continuous transitions (see, for example, DE-GM 91 05 470). The comfort of wearing such inserts with one or the other cut shape is an open question, but it can be stated that such inserts are more or less only suitable for normally cut panty lines, whose crotch area also has a continuous cut of around 5 cm, which then becomes wider and transitions into the buttocks area. The innovation is therefore based on the task of improving or redesigning women's lip pads of the type mentioned above so that they can also be worn with thong briefs without any inconvenience.

This task is solved with a panty liner of the type mentioned above according to the innovation in that the layer has a wide front half in plan view, adapted to the anatomy, which is cut to gradually transition into a narrower rear half.

An insert that has a substantially teardrop-shaped cut is preferred, which will be explained in more detail below.

Further advantageous embodiments result from claims 3 and 4.

The new panty liner is explained in more detail below using drawings of examples of implementation, which essentially correspond to practical original sizes.

As before, the insert consists of at least one layer 1 that is absorbent at least on the body side and has an at least partially solidified peripheral edge. In all embodiments, the inserts are placed during use so that the end 3' of the rear half 3 in the attachment area of the "thong" comes to rest on the crotch of the briefs, which widens towards the front. With regard to the shape of this attachment area, the end 3' is advantageously designed to have a blunt end, as shown in Fig. 2, especially since such a blunt end 3' is less likely to deform or shift when the insert is worn than an end that tapers to a more or less pointed end.

As also indicated in Fig. 2, the layer 1 is provided on the side facing away from the body at least at the narrow end area with a suitable partial adhesive 5, which is shown roughly cross-hatched, but with which the other surface areas can also be covered, as also shown in Fig. 2, for example.

The peripheral edge 6 of the insert is reinforced in a known manner, for example by embossing, which somewhat stabilizes the shape of the insert, prevents fraying and at least reduces the absorption of liquid in this edge area.
