Der Druck, der dann zum Filtrieren nötig ist, steigt andauernd, und die Leistung läßt nach. Am deutlichsten zeigt sich dieser Vorgang in einer gewöhnlichen FiI-terpresse. Hierdurch bewirkt der Gas- oder Flüssigkeitsstrom, während das Filtrat durch die Filterflächen hindurchgesaugt wird, ein wirksames Abspülen der zurückgehaltenen Unreinigkeiten von den Filterflächen. Bei der Drehung der Welle b mit den Filterelementen c gelangen stets neue Teile der Filterflächen in den eintretenden Gas- bzw. Flüssigkeitsstrom, so daß die Filterflächen überall von den anhaftenden Unreinigkeiten gesäubert werden.
