Electronic security of valuables

The invention relates to a generally known generic clip which fulfills the functions of opening and closing; equipped with an electronic system which emits an acoustic signal when the clip is closed and a case attached to the clip for storing e.g. check cards, ID cards or the like. The signal is interrupted when the clip is either opened or, in the closed state, attached to non-electrically conductive material with the tongues corresponding to a clip.

The object of the invention is to technically design a generic clip in the function of a holder of, for example, cases for storing valuable or security items, such as credit cards, ID cards or wallets, to such an extent that optimum security against loss or theft is provided.

In addition, criteria such as ease of handling and simplicity in terms of manufacturing technology should be taken into account in the invention wherever possible.

Until now, it has been common practice to keep credit cards or similar in a wallet or briefcase. They are also often kept loose or only protected by a cover in clothing pockets. But wallets and purses in particular are often the target of theft and storing them in clothing pockets practically provokes loss by them falling out.

In special situations such as holidays in sunny regions, storage becomes even more difficult due to light clothing.

Losing a bank card can be particularly difficult when on vacation, and it shows how important it is to have a secure, safe method of storing bank cards. A similar problem also arises when carrying security IDs, for example.

Simply storing such cards or ID cards in a case that is held firmly in or on clothing or bags using a clip provides a certain level of security compared to conventional storage methods.
For such a purpose, there are a variety of clips with cases in different designs and material properties. In addition to the often complicated or not very functional clips, the aforementioned method still carries the residual risk that these clips can come loose for a variety of reasons and that the objects to be secured can be lost unnoticed.

The invention specified in patent claims 1 and 2 is based on the problem of technically further developing a clip of the generic type in such a way that it emits an acoustic signal when it slips off or is pulled off from a clipped state on, for example, items of clothing, provided that the clip has not previously been opened by a proper opening function corresponding to the clip.

This problem is solved by the features listed in patent claim 1.

The advantages achieved with the invention are in particular that valuables such as cheque cards or wallets, which are connected to the clip according to the invention by different systems such as loops or cases, can be firmly clipped to, for example, items of clothing by means of the same. Two embodiments of the invention are shown in the drawings sheets 1 and 2 by Figure 1 and Figure 2 and are described in more detail below.

Figure 1 shows the invention in side view and, for better understanding, partly in section.

The essential elements can be summarized in a generic clip (1) with an electronic unit (2) attached to it. The basic functionality of a conventional, so-called suspender clip is well known and will not be described in detail.

The electronic unit (2) consists of a so-called box (3), in which a battery

(4) and an acoustic signal generator (5). The acoustic signal generator (5) can be used as an individual electronic component or as a complete element with an electronic control for generating sound. The battery (4) is connected to the electronic signal generator (6) from one pole. The second pole of the battery is connected to the clip, which is made of electronically conductive material, by a conductive element, e.g. a rivet (7), and can therefore also be used to attach the electronic unit (2) to the clip (1).

The second pole of the acoustic signal generator is electronically connected to, for example, an electrically conductive rivet (8), which is electronically separated from the clip by an electrically insulated body (9). This rivet (8) can also simultaneously serve to attach the electronic unit (2) to the clip (1) and additionally fulfill the function of a so-called clamping jaw (10) on the clip. The second clamping jaw (11) of the clip must have electronic conductivity at least at one point and be electronically connected to the clip.

In the open state shown, the circuit is interrupted. The circuit is also interrupted when the clip is closed during its function and the clamping jaws (10) and (11) produce a clamping effect on electronically non-conductive material, such as fabric.

When closed, both clamping jaws (10) and (11) lie on top of each other in an axis. If both clamping jaws are no longer separated from each other by non-conductive material when the clip is closed, the circuit is closed and an acoustic signal sounds.

The electronic unit or the clip itself has at least one tab for holding e.g.

Cases or straps to attach objects to be secured. In Figure 1, these are shown as examples under (12) and (13).

Fig. 2 shows the invention as described in detail in the description of Fig. 1 in side view and with the same functionality.

The differences compared to the invention described in Fig. 1 lie essentially in the location of the electronic unit (2), which is here located on the top of the element (14) that actuates the clip. On the lower flank (15) of the clip (1) there is an electronically conductive rivet (16), which is electrically connected to the clip, which is also made of electronically conductive material, and at the same time fulfills the function of a so-called clamping jaw. Between the rivet (16) and the lower bracket flank (15) there can be a so-called tab (17), which serves to hold so-called cases or holding straps on or in which valuables can be held. In a straight axis above the rivet (16), in the second bracket (18) of the clip (1), there is also an electrical insulation (29), designed as a clamping jaw, for example, which is electronically separated from the clip (1).

The electronic unit (2) can be firmly connected to the clip element (14) with, for example, two rivets or screw connections (21) and (22). In order to fulfil the function of the invention, the rivet (21) must be electronically separated from the clip by an electrical insulation (23) and

when the clip is closed, they are in line with positions (16) and 19). The elements battery (4) and acoustic signal generator located in the electronic unit (2)

(5) are electrically connected to each other electronically and polarity-wise (6).

The second pole of the battery is electrically connected, for example, to the element (21). The second pole of the acoustic signal generator (5) is electrically connected to the element (22), or can also be connected directly to the element (14). When the clip is closed, the circuit created in this way is closed.

The circuit is interrupted by opening the clip or by inserting electronically non-conductive material between the elements (16) and (19). When the clip is closed, the elements (21) and (19) form an electronic contact.
