Description (state of the art) - Underlay (saddle pad, saddle blanket) -

It is known that saddle pads absorb moisture. Furthermore, their thickness and softness also absorb light impacts.

These pads are often filled with polyester wadding or normal foam or felt inserts. There are also gel pads that protect the back thanks to their viscosity (jelly-like substance). These gel pads are also placed under the saddle pad. This means that two products are needed to protect horses with sensitive backs.

However, these products do not achieve the effect of our polyester-based SAF foam (Shock Absorbing Foam) underlay with pronounced viscoelastic behavior.

Our foam differs from "normal foam" in its strong impact and shock absorption and distribution of point loads, and in its ability to become softer with higher temperatures and moisture absorption.

Thus, the shock and impact absorption is greatest when the horse is cold (when you start working with it). As the temperature/humidity increases (working with the horse), this effect decreases. This allows the person in the saddle to increase their influence on the horse as the horse becomes more relaxed.

Result: The "cold horse" is protected from hard strain on the back.

The reaction of the foam is extremely dependent on the speed of the forces acting on it: this foam reacts to slow forces with viscous behavior, but to shock-like forces it reacts with elastic behavior.

The following features are not achieved by products currently on the market:

1. Strong absorption of shocks and point loads caused by the saddle and by the rider’s impact with a product.

2. With increasing heat and humidity (horse’s sweat) increased softness and better influence of the rider.

3. Extremely easy to use, even without prior knowledge.

4. A product that acts as a pad and back protector in one product. With stronger sorbent properties than the previously common combination of pad and gel cushion.

Problem:

Optimal protection of the horse's back and still sufficient opportunity for the person in the saddle to influence the horse. This with one product.

As the softness increases over a longer period of use, the more relaxed the horse's back becomes, the more the person in the saddle can have a better influence on the relaxed horse. Easy care thanks to the entire product's resistance to washing machines.
