Disc-shaped treatment device

The invention relates to a disk-shaped treatment device with a polishing insert fixed in a central holder and protruding radially from a tubular middle piece of the holder, wherein the tubular middle piece and the parallel holding plates fixed to it at a distance are penetrated by a central opening for fixing to a drive or the like.

Polishing devices with polishing inserts made of bristles or textile discs are known, particularly in precision engineering and the dental industry. These are set in a center and preferably protrude radially from the latter. This center is arranged in a one-piece glued holder, which consists of a column-like center piece and two discs that delimit it at the ends.

In view of this state of the art, the inventor has set himself the goal of designing a device of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that the treatment device as a whole can be designed inexpensively and assembled simply, and the polishing insert can be fixed without any problem.

The solution to this problem is the teaching of the independent claim, according to which the holder consists of two parts that can be connected axially to one another mechanically and each of the two parts has a clamping plate and a plug-in element that is formed centrally thereon and surrounds the opening, whereby the plug-in elements of both clamping plates engage axially with one another.

The parts that can be clamped together also hold together in a clamping manner - the radially protruding polishing insert. Thanks to these dimensions, the central holder is easy to manufacture, use and handle.

The subclaims indicate favorable further training.

One clamping plate is preferably equipped with a bushing into which a cross-section-variable counter bushing can be inserted, whereby in an end position hook links of one bushing engage behind counter links of the other bushing and thus create a permanently strong connection.

Several hook links advantageously protrude outwards from the edge of the bushing at a lateral distance from one another; the other bushing is provided with corresponding bottom slots to accommodate the hook links. The latter bushing can preferably be designed as a hollow pin with longitudinal slots running between the hook links and is thus variable in cross-section, i.e. the bushing can be compressed when inserted into the counter bushing - thanks to the longitudinal slots - and then expand again when the hook links enter the bottom slots. In one embodiment, the longitudinal slots expand away from the clamping plate, in another design the longitudinal slots run with a constant width from the surface of the clamping plate, i.e. the bushing is divided into several strips here.

In order to be able to fix the bristle body, teeth are preferably provided on the outer surface of the outer sleeve, the tooth ridge lines of which run parallel to the longitudinal axis of the sleeve. Instead of the axially parallel teeth -- or in addition to them --, pins can run between the clamping plates at a radial distance from the sleeve.

In addition, it has proven to be advantageous to provide at least one annular groove for the positive reception of a bristle holder in the surfaces of the clamping plates that are opposite one another in the installed position, and, in addition, outside the annular groove around these annular strips, which are on the clamping plate surface

form a toothing in cross-section; the latter is arranged at right angles to the toothing of the bushing described above.

In Fig. 1, polishing bristles protrude radially from a central holder 10 of a polishing body 12 as a polishing insert 14. The holder 10 consists of two disk-like clamping plates 16, 18, which are mechanically connected to one another by means of moldings described below and in the

The center of the holder 10 provides a cylindrical passage 20 for a retaining mandrel (not shown for reasons of clarity).

The lower clamping plate 16 in Fig. 1 with an outer diameter d of about 40 mm and a thickness a of 4 mm is provided in the design of Figs. 2 to 7 with three pins 24 with a diameter e of 4 mm and a height h of about 9 mm protruding from its inner surface 22, which are evenly distributed on a construction circle K; the diameter f of which here measures 30 mm.

In the center of the plate there is a passage 20 of diameter b of slightly more than 8 mm with an outwardly widening edge 20 _a . This is surrounded on the outer surface 26 of the plate by a groove 28 of width c which tapers towards its deepest groove 27. The peripheral edge 29 of the clamping plates 16 is rounded in cross section as shown in Fig. 3.

On the inner surface 22 of the plate, the opening 20 is surrounded by a bushing 30 with an outer diameter g of 16.5 mm. Three inner edge recesses 34 with a length i of 7.6 mm are provided in the edge 32 of this bushing!

The inner diameter η of the bushing 30 corresponds approximately to the outer diameter of a hollow pin 36 of the associated second clamping plate 18, which surrounds the opening 20 with a diameter b]_ of 6 mm here. From this, the interior 37 of the hollow pin 36 expands towards its edge 38. On the latter, the cantilever lips 40 protrude outwards, which engage in the edge recesses 34 of the bushing 30 when the holder 10 is assembled and - while deforming the hollow pin 36 provided with longitudinal slots 42 between the cantilever lips 40 - slide downwards in the bushing 30 until the cantilever lips 40 engage behind corresponding bottom slots 31 of the bushing 30; the two clamping plates 16, 18 are now connected to one another

mechanically firmly connected and those pins 24 of one clamping plate 16 engage -- passing through the polishing insert 14, which is designed here as a plurality of textile disks lying on top of one another -- in blind holes 44 of the inner surface 4 6 of the other clamping plate 18. The pins 24 engage through holes in the textile disks.

An annular groove 50 surrounding the passage 20 runs in the outer surface 48 of the clamping plate 18.

In the embodiment according to Fig. 8 to 14, the bushing 51 - of the outside diameter m - of the clamping plate 16 _a is provided with an external toothing 54 of depth t, the tooth ridge lines of which run parallel to the opening axis A. Three partially circular strips 60 of length s can be inserted into this bushing 51, which protrude from the inner surface 4 6 of the other clamping plate 18 _a at intervals y from one another instead of the hollow pin 36 of Fig. 5,6. Between these strips 60 - or that bushing 51 - and the respective clamping plate peripheral edge, an annular groove 56 of partially circular cross-section is provided. Between this and the clamping plate peripheral edge, three annular strips 58 of triangular cross-section run in Fig. 9,11.

The bristle trim of the brush-like polishing insert 12 is inserted in a form-fitting manner into the opposite ring grooves 56 and is additionally held by the described toothings, namely on the one hand by the ring strips 58 on both sides of height ζ and on the other hand - against axial twisting relative to the breakthrough axis A - by means of the external toothing 54 of the bushing 52.

Disc-shaped treatment device with a polishing insert fixed in a central holder and projecting radially from a tubular middle part of the holder, whereby the tubular middle part and parallel holding plates fixed to it are penetrated by a central opening for fixing to a drive or the like, characterized, that the holder (10) consists of two parts which can be mechanically connected to one another axially, each of which has a clamping plate (16, 18; 16 _a , 18 ^a ' ^and a ^plug element (30, 36; 52, 60) formed centrally thereon, which surrounds the opening (20), the plug elements of both clamping plates engaging axially with one another. 2. Device according to claim 1, characterized by a bushing (30, 52) of one clamping plate (16, 16 _a ), into which a cross-sectionally variable counter bushing (36, 60) of the other clamping plate (18, 18 _a ) can be inserted, wherein in an end position hook members (40) of one bushing engage behind counter members (31) of the other bushing. 3. Device according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that several hook members (40) protrude outward from the edge (32) of the sleeve (36, 60) at a lateral distance from one another and the other sleeve (30, 52) has corresponding bottom slots (31) for receiving the hook members. Device according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the bushing (36, 60) provided with the hook members (40) is designed as a hollow pin with longitudinal slots (42) running between the hook members. 5. Device according to claim 4, characterized in that the longitudinal slots (42) extend from the clamping plate (18) from cross-sectionally expand (Fig. 5). 6. Device according to claim 4, characterized in that the longitudinal slots (42) are of constant width (y) from the surface (46) of the clamping plate (18 _a ) (Fig. 10) . 7. Device according to at least one of claims 1 to 6, characterized in that the outer surface of the outer bush (30, 52) is provided with a cross-sectional toothing (54), the tooth ridge lines of which run parallel to the longitudinal axis of the bush (breakthrough axis A). 8. Device according to at least one of claims 1 to 7, characterized in that one of the clamping plates (16) has pins (24) formed thereon at a radial distance from the bushing (30), which pins protrude into blind holes (44) of the other clamping plate (18) and pass through the polishing insert (14). 9. Device according to claim 8, characterized by several textile polishing disks as polishing inserts (14), which are penetrated by the pins (24). 10. Device according to at least one of claims 1 to 8, characterized in that in the surfaces (22, 46) of the clamping plates (16 _a , 18 _a ) which are opposite one another in the installed position, at least P115DE8 ·:·!:::···: -9- an annular groove (56) is provided for the positive reception of a bristle holder for a polishing insert (14), preferably made of bristles. 11. Device according to at least one of claims 1 to 10, characterized in that between the annular groove (56) and the peripheral edge (29) of the clamping plate (16 _a/ 18 _a ) there run a plurality of annular strips (58) which form a cross-sectional toothing on their surface (22, 46). 12. Device according to claim 7 or 11, characterized in that the teeth of the toothing (54, 58) are triangular in cross section.
