WRITING INSTRUMENT

The present invention relates to a writing instrument with a writing instrument body and a closure cap.

A large number of such writing instruments are known. It is also known to integrate an additional functional element into the writing instrument body. This means that in addition to the usual writing function of the writing instrument, other functions of the device are also conceivable. For example, it has been suggested to arrange a light or a clock in the writing instrument body. It has also been suggested to shape the writing instrument body in such a way that it can also be used as a letter opener.

However, these well-known multifunctional writing instruments have the disadvantage that, due to the integration of the additional functional elements into the writing instrument body, the latter has to be very large in order to actually be able to accommodate the functional elements. The usual increase in diameter makes using the writing instrument considerably more difficult, as the entire writing instrument becomes unwieldy. The same thing happens when the functional elements are incorporated into the writing instrument body.

It is therefore the object of the present invention to create a writing instrument of the type mentioned at the outset, with which other functions can be carried out in addition to the writing function, without making the writing function more difficult due to an unwieldy design of the writing instrument body.

Furthermore, it is an object of the present invention to provide a device that ensures retrofitting of simple writing instruments into a multifunctional writing instrument.

The totality of the features of the independent protection claims serves to solve these tasks.

Advantageous embodiments are described in the subclaims.

In the writing instrument according to the invention, additional functional elements are arranged not in a writing instrument body, but in a closure cap of the writing instrument.

This advantageously allows the size of the writing instrument body to be kept within the usual, manageable range, so that the writing function is not affected in any way. The arrangement of the functional elements in the cap of the writing instrument also does not increase the weight of the writing instrument body, so that the writing function of the writing instrument is not made more difficult.

Advantageously, the closure cap designed with one or more functional elements can be placed on known writing instruments with closure caps without functional elements and can replace conventional closure caps. This makes it possible to easily upgrade a simple writing instrument to a multifunctional writing instrument according to the invention.

The basic idea of the invention can be designed in many different ways, in particular with regard to the use of a wide variety of functional elements.

In the following, several embodiments of the writing instrument according to the invention are explained in more detail using the accompanying drawings.

A writing instrument 10 shown schematically in Figure 1 comprises a writing instrument body 12 and a closure cap 14. The writing instrument body 12 is tubular. One end of the body 12 is conical. In the example shown, a writing lead 28 is arranged in the conical end of the writing instrument body 12. However, it is also possible that containers with ink, pencil leads, etc. are arranged instead of the writing lead 28 shown. A light 22 is arranged at the end opposite the conical end of the writing instrument body 12. To supply energy to the light 22, it is in contact with a battery 30 also arranged in the writing instrument body 12. To operate the light 22, a rotary closure 24 is formed, the rotation of which actuates contacts (not shown) that switch the light 22 on or off (see Figure 2). The screw cap 24 is partially or completely transparent. The closure cap 14 placed on the conical end of the writing instrument body 12 also has a retaining bracket 26.

Other suitable materials, such as metal, wood or a combination of the above materials, are also conceivable.

The closure cap 14 is shown in more detail in Figures 3 a - 3 c. From the schematic representations it can be seen that the closure cap 14 has various functional elements 16. Figure 3 a shows such a functional element 16, namely a knife blade. The functional element 16 is shown in the closure cap 14 both in the opened state and in the folded state. In order to simplify the operation of the functional element 16, the closure cap 14 has recessed grips 32, whereby the functional elements 16 in the closure cap 14 are easier to grasp. In Figure 3 b the closure cap 14 is shown with another functional element 16, namely a pair of scissors, in the opened state. Finally, Figure 3 c shows the closure cap 14 with two different functional elements 16, namely a nail file, the tip of which is designed as a screwdriver, and a schematically shown pair of tweezers in the folded-in state. Fastening means 18 are provided in order to be able to fasten the various functional elements to or in the closure cap. The mobility of the functional elements is ensured by a hinge-like design of the fastening means 18.

In addition to the functional elements 16 mentioned, a large number of other functional elements 16 can also be formed in the closure cap. Thus, the closure cap 14 can also have at least one letter opener and/or at least one screwdriver and/or at least one toothpick and/or at least one pair of tweezers and/or at least one needle and/or at least one awl. It is also conceivable to arrange a clock or a compass, a lighting device or a signaling device on the outside of the closure cap 14.

Figure 4 shows a sectional view through the closure cap 14. It can be seen that two recesses 20 are formed in the closure cap to accommodate the functional elements 16. The

Figure 5 shows a schematic plan view of the closure cap 14 of the writing instrument 10. The arrangement of the functional element 16, namely a knife blade, in one of the two recesses 20 can be seen. The functional element 16 can be grasped via the grip recess 32 and can be folded out of the closure cap 14.

Figure 6 shows a schematic side view of the closure cap 14 with two functional elements 16 formed. It is clear that the recessed grip 32 formed in the closure cap 14 makes it much easier to operate the functional elements. The fastening means 18 can also be seen, which ensure the mobility of the functional elements through their hinge-like design.

As already shown in Figure 1, the writing instrument body 12 can have at least one functional element 16 at the end opposite the closure cap 14. In addition to the light 22 already mentioned, it is possible to arrange a clock, a compass, a signaling device or the like there.

The inventive design of the closure cap 14 also makes it possible to subsequently equip any conceivable writing instrument that is not equipped with multifunctional elements with these. The closure cap 14 according to the invention only needs to be adapted to the different shapes of the writing instruments.

Writing instrument with a writing instrument body and a closure cap, characterized, that the closure cap (14) has at least one hinged functional element {IS), wherein the functional element or the functional elements (16) is or are at least one knife blade and/or at least one file and/or at least one pair of scissors and/or at least one letter opener and/or at least one screwdriver and/or at least one toothpick and/or at least one pair of tweezers and/or at least one needle and/or at least one awl and the functional element or elements (16) is or are movably arranged in the closure cap (14). 2. Writing instrument according to claim 1,
characterized, that the closure cap (14) has means (18) for fastening the functional element(s) (16). 3. Writing instrument according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the closure cap (14) has at least one recess (20) for receiving the functional element (16). 4. Writing instrument according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that a clock is arranged in the closure cap (14). 5. Writing instrument according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that a compass is arranged in the closure cap (14). 6. Writing instrument according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that a lighting device or a signaling device is arranged in the closure cap (14). 7. Writing instrument according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the writing instrument body (12) has at least one functional element (16) at the end opposite the closure cap (14). 8. Writing instrument according to claim 7, characterized in that the functional element is a lamp (22). 9. Writing instrument according to claim 8, characterized in that a rotary closure (24) is designed as a contact for actuating the lamp (22). 10.
