Ein Wärmeaustausch findet nun in zweifacher Richtung statt, einmal nach außen, d. h. an den die Rohre b umgebenden Frischdampf, und das andere Mal an das Speisewasser in den inneren Rohren a. Dieses Speisewasser fließt bei g zu, durchströmt das erbreiterte Rohr h und kann einerseits, von einem Doppelkegel i beeinflußt, durch die Rohrzweige I, welche in die Rohre α münden, durch Rohre m in erwärmtem Zustande dem Wasserraum zufließen, andererseits ohne Vorwärmung unmittelbar durch das Rohr η dem Großwasserraum zugeführt werden. Im ersteren Falle wird durch das Durchleiten des Speisewassers die Temperatur des zwischen den Rohren α und b befindlichen überhitzten Dampfes geregelt, im zweiten Falle wird, wie schon erwähnt, das Speisewasser durch das Rohr η dem Großwasserraum zugeführt. Ferner kann vermittels des Doppelkegels i eine Verteilung des Speisewassers derart stattfinden, daß ein Teil durch die Rohre α und ein Teil durch das Rohr η dem Großwasserraum zugeführt wird.
