Handgelenk-Stützapparat. Patentiert im Deutschen Reiche vom 3. August 1915 ab.Wrist brace. Patented in the German Empire on August 3, 1915.
Hebelarmes an.
Fig. ι zeigt die Dorselbeugung.
Fig. 2 zeigt die Volarbeugung.
Betätigung der Bewegungen des HandgelenkesThe subject of the invention is a wrist support apparatus with two hollow rails connected on the one hand by a hinge and on the other hand by a pulling element, one of which is arranged on the extensor side of the forearm and the other on the back of the hand. According to the invention, the pulling element engages the back of the hand rail by means of a lever arm. In the drawing, the subject matter of the invention is shown in two figures. Fig. Ι shows the dorsal diffraction.
Fig. 2 shows the volar diffraction.
As can be seen from the drawing, the apparatus consists of two parts, namely two hollow rails ABCD and MNOP, located on the extensor side of the forearm and the back of the hand, made of a solid material, e.g. B. wood, metal and the like; metal is best suited, namely thin sheet metal, tinplate or brass sheet, less well aluminum because of its softness and poor solderability. Both hollow splints are now connected by hinge joints at X , and the joints must be located exactly at the point where the base of the metacarpal bone of the thumb or the little finger articulates with the carpal bone, because otherwise the hollow splint of the Forearm. With correct articulation, the hollow splint of the forearm retains its position almost unchanged. The mutually facing edges of both hollow rails are cut out so far that they do not quite touch each other when the hand is dorsally bent. The hollow splint of the forearm is held on the arm by a cuff abcd or by two straps that are held in place by guide eyelets attached to the hollow splint, while the hollow splint of the back of the hand is held by one through the palm of the hand over the joints between the base phalanx and metacarpal bone of the second The strap ο φ running up to the fifth finger is firmly connected to the hand. In order to achieve a firm support of the wrist in dorsiflexion, a suspension comes into operation, namely the handpiece MNOP of the apparatus is activated by an elastic traction device α (3 against the forearm piece AB, which can be precisely measured depending on the remaining volar flexion capacity) CD of the apparatus. The pull can be brought about by any spring, a rubber band or the like; a coil spring is most suitable. The upper end of the pulling apparatus is attached directly to the upper end of the hollow rail in the middle of the upper edge the pulling device is not too far removed from the splint when it is working, the lower attachment of the traction organ is attached roughly in the middle of the back of the hand splint a pin γ, # 2 cm long riveted perpendicular to the surface of the back of the hand splint At the same time, a larger lever arm is created for the spring action, which makes it easy to actuate the movements of the wrist
In this way, the active flexion of the hand towards the palm of the hand takes place only with very little force, so that the bending or stretching movements can be effected at high speed. The pulling element is detachably attached to the tip γ of the pin, which is provided with an eyelet, in such a way that a snap hook is hooked into the eyelet. The traction element is connected to the upper edge of the forearm splint by means of a small key ring.
