Date Dec. 11, 1980.A ski stick grip, comprising a T-shaped part, the two arms of the T being symmetrically placed. The middle part of the T is shaped as a surface for the application of the hand and is enlarged in the direction of the T arms. The transition to the T arms is adapted to the shape of the hand and the thumb grip. The upper extremity of the grip with the two arms is built up into a pommel to take the bent fingers of the hand.

Description

The invention relates to a ski pole grip, the lower part of which is designed like a sleeve for enclosing the upper end of the ski pole.

The known ski stick handles have a cylinder-like, sleeve-like body rounded at the upper end, which is placed over the upper end of the ski stick (FIG. 1). Such a grip body must be firmly gripped by the hand so that the necessary force (A), which acts laterally on the stick and thus indirectly in the direction of use of the stick, can be transmitted to the ski pole. With this ski pole actuation, the wrist is moved around an axis of rotation at right angles to the palm of the hand. The strong grasping of the handle body has a long-lasting effect on the hand muscles. The force is indirectly transferred to the ski pole through friction. Moving the wrist perpendicular to the axis of the palm is particularly tiring. The transmission of force from the arm to the known ski pole handle causes a relatively large force (B) on the wrist, which must be absorbed by the arm muscles and the hand muscles. The consequences are fatigue, inflammation and injury to the wrists.

If a wrist strap is attached to the top of the handle body, the gripping force of the hand does not have to be so great, but the lower edge of the hand is stressed all the more, while the stress on the wrist remains equally unfavorable.

It was therefore the task of creating a ski pole grip, especially for Nordic, alpine and touring skiers, with the hand resting on the grip as horizontally as possible, the force of the hand on the grip over a larger and physiologically adapted surface if possible in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the ski pole is transferred to it, whereby a much more comfortable, loose bending movement of the wrist around an axis parallel to the palm and perpendicular to the forearm comes into effect, so that fatigue in the arms, hands and especially in the wrists much smaller and the arm and joint strength is transferred directly and better to the stick.

This object is achieved according to the invention by a ski pole handle which has the features listed in the characterizing part of patent claim 1.

  • Fig. 1 die Handhabung des bekannten Skistokkes,
  • Fig. 2 die Handhabung des erfindungsgemäßen Skistockgriffes,
In the drawing, the handling of a known ski stick handle and an embodiment of the subject of the invention is shown. It shows
  • 1 the handling of the known Skistokkes,
  • 2 the handling of the ski pole grip according to the invention,
  • Fig. 3 is a view in the arm direction on the new ski stick and
  • 4 the hand-grasped, new ski pole grip seen from the side, transversely to the arm direction.

The ski pole handle shown has a T-like shape (FIG. 3) in which the two T-arms 1 are symmetrical to one another. The lower part of the T-middle part 2 is sleeve-shaped to enclose the upper end of the ski pole 3. The intermediate part of the T middle part 2 is shaped as a hand support surface 4 in such a way that the largest possible part of the palm of the hand comes to rest. It is inclined against the T-arms 1 towards the axis 6 of the ski pole 3 (FIG. 4), so that the hands are moved substantially horizontally when the same is actuated. The wrists bend around an axis 5, which is parallel to the palm and perpendicular to the forearm (Fig. 3).

The hand support surface 4 is widened towards the T-arms 1, and the transition to the T-arms 1 is anatomically adapted to the shape of the hand and the position of the thumb (FIGS. 3 and 4). The upper, outer end part of the ski pole grip is designed as a knob with the two T-arms 1 for receiving the curved fingers. The power transmission to the axis 6 of the ski pole 3 is therefore carried out in a pleasant manner, partly by the pressure of the palm, partly by the pull of the fingers.

A hand strap (not shown) can be provided around the T-middle part 2, which enables the ski pole 3 to be pulled loose.

The upper, outer end part with the two T-arms 1 (knob) can be provided with grooves which determine and enlarge the contact surface of the fingers.

The hand support surface 4 can be provided with a knob (not shown) which projects upwards, and the two T-arms 1 can be asymmetrical to one another.

The ski pole handle described is particularly suitable for Nordic, Alpine and touring skiers and enables a much higher performance in normal efforts, since the force used acts directly and precisely in the direction of use of the pole.
