Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf einen korsettartigen, elastischen Gürtel, wie sie in neuerer Zeit öfter als Ersatz für das Korsett in Vorschlag gebracht worden sind. Diese bekannten Gürtel weisen aber den Nachteil auf, daß sie durch die an ihnen angeordneten Strumpfhalter verzerrt und nach unten gezogen werden, so daß sie ihren Zweck nur in unvollkommener Weise erfüllen. Der Gürtel besteht aus einem in bekannter Weise mit Gummieinlagen versehenen Gewebestreifen i, der aus irgendeinem Textilerzeugnis hergestellt ist, so daß das Band als Ganzes in der Längsrichtung elastisch ist. Zu beiden Enden des Bandes sind Befestigungsvorrichtungen 2 angeordnet, durch die das Band geschlossen werden kann. An der Stelle des Gürtels, die in der Taillenlinie des Körpers zu liegen kommt, befindet sich ein schmales Band 3, welches weniger nachgiebig als der übrige Teil des Bandes ausgeführt ist. Dieses Hilfsband 3 kann durch Steppen als besonderes Band gemäß der Fig. 3 am Gürtelband befestigt oder auch während des Herstellungsvorganges in dem Gürtelband erzeugt werden. Das Band 3 besitzt vorteilhaft die gleiche Länge wie der Streifen 1, so daß es ebenfalls an den Befestigungsvorrichtungen 2 endet. Das Gürtelband ist wie üblich noch mit Strumpfhaltern 4 versehen, welche in diesem Falle an besonderen, nachgiebig am Gürtel hängenden Teilen 5 und 6 befestigt sind. Der Anschluß des Teiles 6 am Gürtelband wird vorteilhaft an den Punkten 7 bewirkt, die in den Seitenlinien des Körpers liegen, so daß der Zug der Strumpfbänder 4 von der Körpermitte nach den Seiten verschoben wird.
