KAISERLICHESIMPERIAL
PATENTAMT.PATENT OFFICE.
It is known to dry or wet paper yarn by mechanical spinning
to produce endless strips of paper. However, the paper must be made of very tough and very intimately matted, i.e. hard and firm
Fabric exist so that the narrow strips with heavy use during the
Do not tear the spinning process. As a result, all of the previously known methods
if paper yarns achieved a hard, straw-like character corresponding to the hard leaf,
with a relatively smooth surface. Such yarns can therefore probably be used as a substitute
for raw and cheap webs, such as jute etc., come into consideration, but never as
Replacement for cotton-like or linen-like soft yarns.
The present invention solves this problem by removing the paper strip prior to spinning
is subjected to creping, most suitably one determined by pressing,
difficult to stretch crepe, e.g. B. by the method of patent 213925.
The paper strips produced in this way can now, even with very
soft fiber paper, can be spun into appropriately soft yarns without hesitation,
because the numerous crepe folds lying across the spinning direction give this
Paper yarn is so resistant to tension that it cannot be torn
can take place. But the creping has the further advantage that one of such
Fabric made from paper yarn becomes more elastic, i.e. more durable, as this after
the previous procedures could be achieved. So there are also paper yarns,
which are made of hard paper, but according to the method described above
become more durable and elastic.
The creping of the paper strips can either be full or cut into strips
Paper web or in the individual paper strips themselves.
In the production of the papers, vegetable or animal substances can be added
Fibers, consideration should be given to their later use. These additives can
in a known manner either gummed, poured or sprinkled on.
