Den Gegenstand der Erfindung bildet ein Verfahren der Herstellung von Isolierkörpern aus Torf und Bindemitteln, wie Teerpech, gegen Wärme und Kälte, die auch schalldämpfend wirken. Die Erfindung besteht darin, daß lockerer, wasserfreier, langfaseriger Torf in heißem Zustande in einer umlaufenden Trommel der Wirkung kalter und feuchter Druckluft, versetzt mit pulverigem Bindemittel, ausgesetzt wird, worauf die Masse durch Pressen geformt wird.The subject of the invention is a process for the production of insulating bodies made of peat and binding agents, such as tar pitch, against heat and cold, which are also sound-absorbing works. Der Torf wird entsäuert, der Luft ausgesetzt und getrocknet. Dann wird der Torf in einer Reißmaschine langfaserig zerrissen. Der langfaserige, lockere Torf wird hierauf der Wirkung eines heißen Luftstromes ausgesetzt und dadurch geröstet. Der vollkommen wasserfreie, erhitzte Torf kommt dann in eine umlaufende Trommel. Dem heißen Torf wird darin unter Druck kalte, feuchte Luft, mit Bindemitteln in Staub form versetzt, zugeführt. ■ Da die heißen, trockenen Torffasern sehr aufnahmefähig sind, wird eine innige Mischung herbeigeführt. Die Masse wird dann in bekannter Weise durch kaltes oder warmes Pressen in die Gebrauchsform gebracht.The peat is deacidified and exposed to the air and dried.
