GROUP The known needles with movable tongues for knitting machines come it often happens that the pin around which the movable tongue rotates while working loosens and emerges from the side of the needle, causing the thread to get caught and as a result tears, or that the pin falls out completely and thus the tongue. The present invention now aims to remedy this drawback by means of the one shown in the drawing and to eliminate the construction described below. In the drawing, the invention is shown in two embodiments.

Figures 3 and 4 are cross-sections through the needle in the direction of the pivot, 5 and 6 are horizontal sections through the needle with tongue eyelet and pivot pin. As can be seen from FIGS. 1, 2 and 5, the needles consist of the known shaft α with the hook b and the tongue c, which moves around the pivot e in the slot d milled into the shaft α.
