Abstract

The tracking device can be used in a submarine to recognise and identify sailing vessels or flying objects. The detecting object does not make it possible to pinpoint the actual position of the submarine. The submarine is fitted with a computer for evaluating the received signals. There are several buoys (1) floating on the surface of the water. Each buoy contains a position measuring instrument (3), a stabiliser (2) and a panoramic lens (4). The submarine (7) is linked to the buoy via an optical fibre (8), which is used to transmit the signals picked up by the buoy.
