wird durch Chlorwasserstoffabspaltung mit alkoholischem Kali ι · 3 · 9 · io-Tetrachloranthracen erhalten (Liebermann und Lindemann, B. 13, 1589; Hammerschlag, B. 19, 1108; Meyer und Zahn, A. 396, 172). Wässerige Alkalilaugen wirken hingegen, wie der Versuch zeigt, nicht ein.is obtained by splitting off hydrogen chloride with alcoholic potassium · 3 · 9 · io-tetrachloroanthracene received (Liebermann and Lindemann, B. 13, 1589; Hammerschlag, B. 19, 1108; Meyer and Zahn, A. 396, 172). Aqueous alkaline solutions, on the other hand, act like the experiment shows not one.
Das neue Verfahren bietet den Vorteil, die Verwendung vonIt has now been found that aqueous potassium hydroxide solution or sodium hydroxide solution can also be used for the reaction with dichloranthracene tetrachloride, namely by adding small amounts Quantities of benzylsulfanilic acid salts. The known 1 × 3 × 9 × 10-tetrachloroanthracene is obtained in this way light and smooth in almost theoretical yield. The reaction is already starting at normal temperature and runs very quickly when heated. The new procedure has the advantage of using
B. durch Chlorieren von Anthracen in Tetrachlorkohlenstoff bei Gegenwart von Jod.ao to make alcohol superfluous, so that worked in open vessels without precautionary measures can be and the distillation to recover the solvent is omitted. In a corresponding manner, 9-10-dichloroanthracene can also be prepared from other chlorine addition products represent very generally polychloranthracenes, for example from dichloroanthracene hexachloride a pentachloranthracene, a hexachloranthracene from dichloroanthracene octochloride. The starting materials mentioned are obtained, for. B. by chlorinating anthracene in Carbon tetrachloride in the presence of iodine.
Die Wirkung der benzylsulfanilsauren SalzeThe effect of the benzylsulfanil acid salts
B. Seifenlösung oder Turkonöl, sind jedoch nur mit geringerem Erfolge anwendbar. is likely due to the fact that they render the starting material wettable; similar additives, such as B. Soap solution or turquoise oil, however, can only be used with less success.
The. yellow polychloranthracenes can be used and serve as pigment dyes as a starting material for intermediates, e.g. B. chlorinated anthraquinones and dyes.
Man er- · hält so in theoretischer Ausbeute ein fein verteiltes gelbes, schon als Rohprodukt fast völlig reines 1 · 3 · 9 · io-Tetrachloranthracen, identisch mit dem von Liebermann und Lindemann, B. 13, 1589(1888), sowie von Hammerschlag, B. 19, 1108 (1886) dargestellten, bei 1640 i. 389 parts by weight of dichloroanthracene tetrachloride C 14 H 8 Cl 6 , which can be prepared according to the instructions of Hammerschlag, B. 19, 1108 (1886), are made into a paste with a solution of 20 to 100 parts by weight of sodium benzylsulfanil in 400 parts by weight of water and 1383 parts by weight of 40 ° sodium hydroxide solution Be heated to 90 to 110 ° for 4 to 6 hours while stirring in an open vessel. After a short time, a thick yellow paste forms. The evaporating water is expediently only replaced to the extent that a filtrate of 35 to 40 ° Be is obtained on suction. The caustic soda recovered in this way can be used again. The filter residue is washed with hot water to remove the sodium benzylsulfanil and then dried in a steam cabinet. A finely divided yellow, almost completely pure 1 · 3 · 9 · io-tetrachloroanthracene, identical to that of Liebermann and Lindemann, B. 13, 1589 (1888), and of Hammerschlag, is obtained in theoretical yield , B. 19, 1108 (1886) shown at 164 0

Man erhält ein gelbes Reaktionsprodukt, das,2, 460 parts by weight of dichloroanthracene hexachloride, 1 C 14 H 8 Cl 8 , melting point 90 °, obtained by chlorinating anthracene in carbon tetrachloride in the presence of iodine, as a readily soluble portion, with the same amount by weight of a 5 percent solution of sodium benzylsulfanil and 1383 parts by weight of sodium hydroxide solution 40 0 Be heated to about 80 to 100 ° for 8 hours with stirring. A yellow reaction product is obtained which,
Die Analyse zeigt, daß ein Pentachloranthracen C14 H6 Cl6 vorliegt.: recrystallized from chloroform, melts at 170 to 180 ° and is soluble in hot concentrated sulfuric acid and in cold 2% oleum with an intense violet-gray color. The analysis shows that a pentachloranthracene C 14 H 6 Cl 6 is present.
Die Analyse zeigt, daß ein Hexachloranthracen3- 53 1 parts by weight of dichloroanthracene octochloride, C 14 H 8 Cl 10 , melting point about 280 °, obtained by chlorinating anthracene in carbon tetrachloride in the presence of iodine, as a sparingly soluble portion, are made into a paste with the same weight of a 5 percent solution of sodium benzylsulfanil stirred with 2766 parts by weight of sodium hydroxide solution at 40 ° Be for 8 hours at 105 to 10 ° with temporary replacement of the evaporating water. The intensely greenish yellow reaction product is filtered off with suction. washed with water and dried. Recrystallized from chloroform or carbon tetrachloride, it forms yellow crystals with a melting point of 225 °. The product is insoluble in concentrated sulfuric acid in the cold, with a slight warming with a blue, with stronger heating with a violet color. In 20 percent oleum it dissolves with a purple color even at ordinary temperature. The analysis shows that a hexachloranthracene
