Description
- Flammfeste, thermoplastische Formmassen
- Zusatz zu P 27 34 926.4 Die Patentanmeldung P 27 34 926.4 betrifft flammfeste, thermoplastische Formmassen auf Basis von Styrolpolymerisaten, die 0,05 bis 5 Gewichtsprozent einer organischen Bromverbindung, sowie gegebenenfalls ein Treibmittel enthalten. Die Bromverbindung soll dabei folgende Bedingungen erfüllen: 1. die Verbindung enthält im Molekül mindestens einen heterocyclischen Ring mit mindestens einem Stickstoff als Heteroatom, 2. im Molekül ist mindestens einmal die Gruppierung N=C-CBr3 enthalten, wobei -N=C- ein Bestandteil des heterocyclischen Ringes ist, 3. die Verbindung ist bei einer Temperatur von 150 0c thermisch so stabil, daß bei einstündiger Temperaturbelastung der Gewichtsverlust weniger als 1 % beträgt, 4. Derivate des 1,3,5-Thiadiazols sind ausgeschlossen.
- Bevorzugte Bromverbindung ist das 2,4,6-Tris-(tribrommethyl)-1,3,5-triazin.
- Es wurde nun gefunden, daß folgende Bromverbindungen ebenfalls gut geeignet sind: 2-Tribrommethyl-benzthiazol der Formel I: 2-Tribrommethyl-benzoxazol der Formel II: In Bezug auf die Art der Styrolpolymerisate, der Treibmittel, weiterer Zusatzstoffe, sowie die Einarbeitung der Flammschutzmittel in die Formmassen und deren Verarbeitung unterscheidet sich der Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung nicht von dem des Hauptpatents.
- Auch die Prüfung der Formkörper in dem Beispiel wurde wie im Hauptpatent durchgeführt.
- Beispiel Ein expandierbares Polystyrol-Granulat mit einem Gehalt von 6,4 » Pentan wird mit 0,3 Gew.% pulverförmigem Flammschutzmittel I bzw. II, sowie 0,025 Gew.% Kieselsäure als Antiverklebungsmittel durch einfaches Auftrommeln im Schaufelmischer 3 Minuten vermischt. Aus dem Granulat wird durch Behandlung mit Wasserdampf ein Schaumstoff erhalten. Zum Vergleich wurde als bekanntes Flammschutzmittel Hexabromcyclododecan (HBGD) eingesetzt.
- Folgende Verlöschzeiten werden an den Schaumstoffen gemessen: I : 9 sec.
- II : 10 sec.
- HBCD : 20 sec.
Claims (1)
- Patentanspruch Flammfeste, thermoplastische Formmassen nach Patentanmeldung P 27 34 926.4 auf Basis von Styrolpolymerisaten, die 0,05 bis 5 Gewichtsprozent einer organischen Bromverbindung als Flammschutzmittel enthalten, die folgende Bedingungen erfüllt: 1. die Verbindung enthält im Molekül mindestens einen heterocyclischen Ring mit mindestens einem Stickstoff als Heteroatom, 2. im Molekül ist mindestens einmal die Gruppierung N=C-CBr3 enthalten, wobei -N=C- ein Bestandteil des heterocyclischen Ringes ist, 3. die Verbindung ist bei einer Temperatur von 1500C thermisch so stabil, daß bei einstündiger Temperaturbelastung der Gewichtsverlust weniger als 1 ¢ beträgt, 4. Derivate des 1,3,5-Thiadiazols sind ausgeschlossen, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Bromverbindung 2-Tribrommethylbenzthiazol oder 2-Tribrommethylbenzoxazol ist.
