Auf diesen Zwischenschüttler, welcher vorteilhafterweise aus siebartigen Platten bestehen kann, fällt das Kurzstroh herab, wird gewendet und in die Höhe geworfen, wobei ein nochmaliges Wenden oder Umkehren stattfindet, und wobei gleichzeitig das Kurzstroh noch eine Stoßwirkung erfährt. Die Oberfläche dieser Zwischenschüttler gestaltet man zweckmäßig unsymmetrisch wellenartig, und zwar derart, daß das Stroh beim Übergang über den Zwischenschüttler gegen die hochkantigen Teile der Wellen stößt; die Öffnungen für den Durchtritt der Körner und der Spreu liegen in den Wellentälern.
