Ein Ausführungsbeispiel der Erfindung ist auf der Zeichnung in Fig. 1 und 2 dargestellt. Ferner ist für den aus derselben oder einer von der Ankerstromquelle getrennt angeordneten besonderen Stromquelle entnommenen Feldstrom υ die Eintrittsstelle und w die Austrittsstelle. Betrachtet man nun in Fig. 1 einen im Zuge laufenden Wagen A, B und nimmt die Stirnwand A als die in der Fahrtrichtung vordere an, so fließt der Ankerstrom durch den Elektromotor m in Richtung f-d, der Feldstrom in Richtung k - i. Durch den Motor η fließt der Anker strom in Richtung e-c, der Feldstrom in Richtung g-h. Wird nun der Wagen A, B, wie in Fig. 2 dargestellt, umgedreht und so in den im übrigen nicht veränderten Zug eingestellt, daß bei derselben Fahrtrichtung des Zuges die Stirnwand B die in der Fahrtrichtung vordere wird, so fließt der Ankerstrom bei dem jetzt hinten befindlichen Elektromotor m in der Richtung d-f, der Feldstrom in der Richtung k-i. Bei dem Elektromotor η fließt der Ankerstrom in der Richtung c-e, der Feldstrom in der Richtung g-h. Beim Umdrehen eines an die Zugleitung angeschlossenen Wagens bleibt also die Stromrichtung in den Feldern dieselbe, die Stromrichtung in den Ankern dagegen kehrt sich um, wodurch sich die Umdrehungsrichtung der Elektromotoren ändert.An embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing in FIGS.
