Abstract

The piston has two crowns rigidly joined together to form two combustion chambers. The connecting piece is coupled to a regulator rod whose swinging movements are transferred to a crank shaft connecting rod. The free end of the regulator rod is coupled to a stabiliser rod pivoted to the crank case. The piston design is applicable to all type of i.c. engines. For two-stroke working, one combustion chamber is used as a pre-compression chamber. The combustion and pre-combustion chambers are suitably connected by transfer channels regulated in the usual manner by piston movement. Engine bearing lubrication is by forced feed avoiding the use of a fuel oil mixture.
