Description
Separatorseparator
The invention relates to a separator the genus specified in the preamble of the main claim.
The separator is intended in particular for the separation of oil / water mixtures, but can in principle can be used to separate any mixture of two liquids which have different densities and are immiscible.
Ähnliche Vorschriften müssen auchThe separator is particularly suitable for use on ships. There are things to be emptied on ships Ballast water and bilge water often contaminated with oil, however, oil must not be discharged into port or coastal waters. To the ever stricter regulations regarding To take into account the maximum permissible oil content of drained water, separators are better Effectiveness required for the treatment of such waters before their release. Similar regulations also need to be

bezüglich Industrieabwässern beachtet werden, welche in Sturmwasserabzugskanäle oder unmittelbar in Flüsse abgegeben werden.with regard to industrial wastewater that is discharged into storm water drainage channels or directly into rivers will.
The invention is based on the object of providing a separator, in particular for separating an oil / water mixture, to create, which with a simple construction an essentially complete! separation of the two liquid Mixture components from each other reliably guaranteed. The separator should also be used in confined spaces be, as is the case on ships, for example, and also monitored, cleaned and without difficulty can be repaired if necessary.
The separator according to the invention is therefore through those specified in the characterizing part of the main claim Characterized features. Advantageous further developments of the invention are characterized in the remaining claims.
Die dritte Trennstufe ist mit einem feinen Schirm versehen, welcher aus der die zweite Trennstufe verlassenden Flüssigkeit etwa noch vorhandene PartikelThe separator according to the invention has three separation stages through which the mixture to be broken down into its liquid components flows through one after the other will. The first separation stage consists essentially of a series of plates, each of which at least sections are inclined relative to the vertical, and over which the respective mixture from below flows upwards. The second separation stage has a coagulator, which also flows through from bottom to top will. The third separation stage is with a fine Provided screen, which from the second separation stage leaving liquid any particles that are still present

Die andere, gereinigte Flüssigkeit verlaßt den Separator schließlich an dessen oberem Ende.with molecular dimensions of the second liquid removed, which has already been separated in the first and in the second separation stage, so that only such particles or liquid particles may still be present. Those in the different C racing levels separated liquid is received in collection chambers from which it can be drawn off. The other, Purified liquid eventually leaves the separator at its upper end.
In the case of oil / water mixtures, the oil is separated from the water in the three separation stages. It can be withdrawn from the aforementioned collecting chambers, while the clear water leaves the separator at the top. In the first Irennstuf e oil contained in the mixture floats due to the lower specific weight with respect to water up against the inclined surfaces of the plates in order to collect on them. The oil forms creeping films on the surfaces which move up to the upper edges of the plates under the influence of the buoyancy of the oil. There they form agglomerates. When the agglomerates have grown so much that -i . hx 'Buoyancy overcomes the surface tension forces that hold them on the plates, then they release to swim up in the water to a collection chamber'.
In the second separation stage, this collects in the water remaining oil on the material of the coagulator, which is finely crushed, forms a bed and becomes an oil has greater affinity than water. The water leaving the first separation stage filters through the cavities of the eoagulator bed and the oil collects on the material of the coagulator bed so that

Form corresponding films, which flow upwards more slowly than the water and agglomerate above the coagulator bed. They grow agglomerates until they loosen and float up into a collection chamber where they are collected.
Bas contains water leaving the coagulator bed Oil particles in the molecular order of magnitude, that is, with molecular dimensions, which through the screen of the third Irennstufe be removed. The oil forms a creeping one EiIm on the surface of the perpendicular or approximately vertical screen and moves up over the screen, where it can be collected. If necessary, can Several filter cartridges can be connected downstream of the screen, which hold back any remaining oil particles.

The water leaving the hanging chamber 3 and any oil still remaining in it flow through a R-ingV gTnTn fvr »9 between the partition 4 and an inner partition 10 concentric thereto to the bottom of the container 1, in order then to be passed upwards through the second separation stage of the separator which consists of a coagulator, namely a central coagulator bed 11 of considerable depth. This is made up of a mass of finely ground material, which has a greater affinity for oil than for water. For example, it can be granular or fibrous material and the material can either be loosely arranged in a suitably perforated container or shaped into highly porous blocks or mats.
Water filters up through the cavities of the coagulator bed 11, while oil settles on the bed material collects and forms creeping films which flow more slowly than the water upwards and above the coagulator bed 11 accumulate. Jegliches nach Passieren des Schirmes 13 etwa noch im Wasser enthaltenes öl liegt also in sehr fein zerteilter Form vor.prevents the oil leaving the eoagulator bed 11 from collecting on the screen 15, and that water flows directly to the outlet pipe s without having passed the screen 13 Dimensions separates. The screen 13 is advantageously designed as a 100-mesh screen. Any oil still contained in the water after passing through the screen 13 is therefore in a very finely divided form.
Sie können aus jedem geeigneten Material bestehen, beispielsweise aus Fiber- oder Fasermatten oder anderem porösen Material hergestellt sein, wie beispielsweise porösem, keramischem oder gesinntertem Material,Finally, such oil particles or droplets are of the order of, for example, 10 microns There are 13 filter cartridges inside the umbrella 15 arranged. Instead, each filter cartridge 15 can also be provided with an axial bore in which the in the respective filter cartridge 15 retained oil is brought up into a collection chamber 17, from which it can be deducted. The collecting chamber is in the dome-shaped, upper end of an upward extending extension 18 of the container 1 is provided, which is designed as a cylindrical housing, the is inserted into the dome-shaped, upper end of the container 1.
Clean water exits through an outlet pipe 19 which extends in the middle of the upper end of the appendix 18 extends outward. The perforated, lower end of the outlet pipe 19 is perforated by a Cylinder 21 shielded, at the lower end of which a conical deflector plate 22 immediately above the the upper end of the screen 13 is provided.
12 bzw. 17 ein bestimmtes Niveau erreicht hat. From Fig. 1 there are three pairs of probes 23 »24 and 25 for high and low oil levels, which hang down from the roof of the container 1, namely each pair 23 or 24 or 25 in a different oil collection chamber .8 or 12 or 17 »to display the oil level in it. In Fig. 1 steam heating coils 29 and 30 are also shown with dashed lines, through • which steam can be passed through the various separation stages if the temperature of the Water and the viscosity of the oil make this necessary or desirable. The steam heating coil 29 is used to heat the mixture in the first two separation stages, the steam heating coil 30 for heating of the mixture in the third separation stage. If steam is not available, hot water can come through the heating coils 29 and 30 are allowed to flow, or electric immersion heaters can be provided instead.
From Fig. 2 it is particularly clear that the inner, annular partition walls 4 and 10 of the separator are divided in the same horizontal parting plane 2 and abut each other in a sealed manner, as the container 1. The separator can therefore be opened without an outer cover would have to be lifted over inner separator components. This facilitates maintenance and Inspection in very tight spaces, such as between the decks of a ship, as the upper part of the separator only needs to be lifted from the lower part to the extent necessary to separate the seals.
