The electrical cleaning of the gases from dust, mist and the like is known to occur the best way is to bring the gases between two electrodes, one of which (the spraying electrode) with it sharp points, from which elec-
Die aus den Spitzen strömende■ Tricity flows out, while the other electrode is flat and opposite Charge is. The one pouring out of the tips
ίο Elektrizität elektrisiert die schwebenden Teilchen, die nun gegen die Fläche anfliegen, wo sie festgehalten werden.ίο Electricity electrifies the floating particles, which now fly against the surface where they are held.
The new invention wants the needle tips of the spraying electrode through thin jets of water substitute. The experiment showed the following. Are thin jets of water, such as those coming from pinprick-sized holes, electrified by applying high-tension electricity to the vessels from which they come , the jets atomize a few centimeters behind the outlet opening in a fine spray, the individual droplets of which are charged and therefore disperse. The remaining smooth part of the beam acts like a pointed needle and lets the electricity flow out as well as this. So if you stab into a Drill a series of fine holes and jets of water from them under moderate pressure emerge, you have a device that works electrically just like a metallic one Lace comb. If you bring such a comb consisting of electrified jets of water in the vicinity of an oppositely charged plate or better between two plates (See. Fig. 1 and 2), so that mist-carrying gas can be cleaned at least as well as when using metallic tips. The great advantages of the new facility leads, but are as follows:
The water jets always remain unchanged if one only provides for water flow and always clean and shiny. Metal needles, on the other hand, atomize through the outflow Electricity slowly at the top and become dull. They are also in the process of cleaning Some gases are also exposed to chemical attack, oxidise, etc. But what is worst, they also fly Mist particles on the needles, and if these particles are sticky in nature, e.g. B. tar and Resin particles, the needles quickly become dirty and ineffective.
The fine spray, in which the water jets dissolve at their tips, arrives due to electrical attraction to the collecting surfaces and keeps them moist. So can those approaching these areas Particles of fog do not get stuck here, nor do they pile up, but become of it washed away by dripping water. There is therefore no cleaning of the collecting areas necessary.
Wie wertvoll dieses ist, erkennt man, wennAn apparatus of the new kind can therefore continue to work without any cleaning. How valuable this is can be seen when
man weiß, wie oft Apparate anderer Art gereinigt werden müssen.we know how often other types of apparatus have to be cleaned.
If one uses the new device for cleaning the air of residential or Sick rooms, so everything that is floating in the air in the form of dust or bacteria, knocked down and washed away and thus eliminated for good. With metallic needles and when the panels are dry, the dust is only loosely deposited on the panels and easily falls off again and then comes back into the room air.
