Die moderne Paraffingewinnung vollzieht sich in fast allen Fabriken in folgenden drei Stufen:The modern paraffin production takes place in almost all factories in the following three Stages:
Allow the paraffin to crystallize out by cooling the paraffin-containing distillates and Separation of the obtained crystals from the oil by filtration in filter presses.
Refinement of the paraffin still containing a lot of oil coming from the filter presses,
ίο der sogenannten Paraffinbutter;ίο the so-called paraffin butter;
Complete de-oiling of the refined paraffin butter through the sweating process.
The subject matter of the present invention is a method which is suitable, above all, for carrying out the refinement process of the second working section in the simplest and cheapest way imaginable. Afterwards, too, the paraffin is crystallized out of the material to be refined by cooling. But instead of, as has been the case up to now, a uniform, pumpable crystal slurry from which the paraffin crystals can only be separated with the help of filter presses or other equally expensive devices, the new method is able to separate the solid from the liquid parts without carry out further aids in the crystallizer itself. , Tests have demonstrated that it is possible subject to certain working conditions, higher melting paraffin crystals shortly after its emergence from paraffin butter ERS 35 such

scheiden, daß sie von dem flüssigen Anteil sich glatt absetzen und am Boden des Gefäßes im weiteren Verlaufe des Prozesses sich zu einer festen, filzigen Masse verdichten, durch welche die flüssigen Anteile leicht abgeseiht werden können, und daß den derart gewonnenen Kristallen bloß ein Minimum von Öl (Mutterlauge) anhaftet.separate that they settle smoothly from the liquid portion and at the bottom of the vessel in the further course of the process condense into a solid, felty mass, through which the liquid portions can be easily strained, and that such Only a minimum of oil (mother liquor) adheres to the crystals obtained.
Wesentlich zur Erzielung dieser Wirkung sind:The following are essential to achieve this effect:
1. Die Art der Bewegung, die weder in der Art der bekannten Kristallisationsapparate erfolgen darf, noch ein lebhaftes Durchmischen, wie etwa beim Maischprozeß, darstellt;1. The type of movement that occurs neither in the manner of the known crystallization apparatus may, still represents a lively mixing, such as in the mashing process;
2. die Schnelligkeit der Abkühlung;2. the speed of cooling;
3. die Temperatur, auf die gekühlt wird. Die unter 1. genannte Bedingung wird3. the temperature to which the cooling takes place. The condition mentioned under 1. becomes
Die bei langsamer Abkühlung nun folgende Ausscheidung des Paraffins ist dadurch charakterisiert, daß die allmählich sich bildenden, spezifisch schwereren und gut ausgebildeten Paraffinkristalle gleich zu Boden sinken, woachieved by the entire contents of the vessel being rotated with the well-known standing, round vessels a with built-in, extremely slowly rotating, horizontal and flat arms e, which are provided with the known scratches e 1 against the vessel jacket, so that it is like an upright cylindrical body behaves, rotating around its axis. As a result, the individual parts of the content experience almost no mutual change in position. The excretion of paraffin which now follows with slow cooling is characterized by the fact that the gradually forming, specifically heavier and well-developed paraffin crystals sink straight to the bottom wherever
After completion of this process, the liquid portion is drained through the porous paraffin mass, which is supported by a wire screen c arranged above the bottom b , and through the screen by means of the tap d at the lowest point.
The conditions mentioned under 2. and 3. are, although their influence on all crystallization processes is well known, also of importance here, by both depending on the melting point and paraffin content accordingly are to be chosen.
B. the charging of the apparatus with a paraffin butter of 40 ° melting point and 65 percent paraffin content is carried out at a temperature of 42 ° C., the cooling is appropriately directed so that the temperature in each hour by 0.6 ° to 0.8 ° C. decreases until to a temperature of 29 0 C. The cooling time period is THEREFORE claim of about 18 hours. When the temperature reached 29 ° C.
Es resultieren dann etwa 40 Gewichtsprozente der benutzten Paraffinbutter als flüssiges Öl von 29 ° Stockpunkt und 40 Prozent Paraffingehalt, das man in irgendeinen Behälter fließen läßt und 60 Gewichtsprozente als Paraffinmasse von 46/47° Stockpunkt und etwa 82 Prozent Paraffingehalt, welche mittels einer Dampfschlange in einen anderen Behälter abgeschmolzen wird.the oil is filtered off in the manner described earlier, after the rotary movement and any artificial cooling that has been carried out has previously been stopped. For this purpose, the apparatus 1 / i are subjected to 1 hour depending on the size. This then results in about 40 percent by weight of the paraffin butter used as a liquid oil of 29 ° pour point and 40 percent paraffin content, which is allowed to flow into any container, and 60 percent by weight as paraffin mass of 46/47 ° pour point and about 82 percent paraffin content, which is in another container is melted.
The process characterized in the foregoing that is primarily used for the refinement of the Paraffin butter is important, but is also expandable to oil-free paraffin, which is a mixture of softer and harder paraffins, and its treatment by means of above process the soft paraffins take over the role of the oil (mother liquor). The ab- ^ Cooling, on the other hand, has to take place much more slowly here. Is z. B. oil-free paraffin of 53 ° pour point with a temperature of 55 ° C. in the same apparatus, so it is advantageous to cool so that the temperature after the first hour to 53 ° C. drops and from then on every hour by 0.2 ° C up to a temperature of 51 ° C. The cooling time is then 11 hours, during which time the harder one precipitates Paraffin is going on. The softer paraffin, which is then in a liquid state is located in the upper part of the apparatus, is then in the same way as described earlier, strained through the precipitated porous mass of hard paraffins and collected in a lower-lying vessel. It will have a pour point of 51 °. The hard paraffin mass is melted in another vessel and has a pour point of 55 °. The proportion of soft and hard paraffin is about 1: 1.
