Description
The invention relates to a filter mat for hydraulic engineering and the sheathing of drainage pipes, which consists of a fleece made of strongly crimped synthetic fibers with a shape deviating from a circle Cross section consists.
Such a fiber mat has become known through the German utility model 70 29 284.
In the case of filter mats, a compromise must be made between water permeability and the filter effect. The higher the filter effect, the smaller the pores and consequently the lower the water permeability. In order to increase the water permeability with the desired high filter effect, but as high as possible hold, the fabric for the filter mats and the filtering surface are relatively loose at the same time to enlarge. However, the loose accumulation of threads within the filter mat has the Disadvantage that their intrinsic strength no longer meets the relevant requirements.
In the known filter mat, the necessary strength of the mat is achieved in that the individual Fibers are needled through a load-bearing mesh or with a chemically resistant binder used or the fibers are fused or glued together at their points of contact.
The filter effect is improved in the known filter mat by the fact that fibers of different strengths can be used, whereby thinner fibers can fill the voids between thicker fibers. the thus reduced passageways for the water between the fibers have the advantage that the The filter effect is increased, but at the same time a deterioration in water permeability must be accepted be taken. This results from the fact that, based on a fixed mat volume, the Relationship between fiber volume and pore volume is changed. By adding the finest Fibers, the fiber volume is increased; consequently, that which affects the water permeability is reduced Pore volume.
The invention has for its object to improve the feeding properties of a mat without the Impairing water permeability, as well as entangling the fibers of the mat with one another favor.
Diese Aufgabe ist gemäß der Erfindung dadurch gelöst worden, daß jede Faser kreuzförmigen Querschnitt hatThis object has been achieved according to the invention in that each fiber has a cruciform cross-section Has
Dadurch werden die Filtereigenschaften verbessert, ohne daß dabei gleichzeitig eine Herabsetzung der Wasserdurchlässigkeit in Kauf zu nehmen ist Der kreuzförmige Querschnitt der FasernThe cross-shaped cross-section of the fibers has the advantage that the filtering surface without pore constriction is enlarged. As a result, the filter properties are improved without at the same time a The cross-shaped cross-section of the fibers has to be taken into account
ίο hat auch noch den Vorteil, daß sich die gekräuselten Fäden intensiv miteinander verhaken, so daß die Eigenfestigkeit des lockeren Fadengewirrs verbessert ist Bei der Herstellung der Matten kann deshalb auf ein Verkleben der Fäden an den Berührungspunkten verzichtet werden.ίο also has the advantage that the ruffled Intense interlocking of threads, so that the inherent strength of the loose thread tangle improves During the manufacture of the mats, the threads can therefore stick to the points of contact be waived.
After a second solution to the underlying task, for which independent protection is also claimed each fiber has a cloverleaf-like cross-section. With such fibers there is a tangling effect particularly strong, so that the nonwovens formed therefrom have an even higher inherent strength.
Since the filtering properties are positively influenced by the enlargement of the filtering surface a filter mat can also be made by increasing its layer thickness in the feeding properties can be improved without decreasing the water permeability value. However, this is disadvantageous Way associated with increased material costs, which has a negative effect on the production.
In addition, the weight of the mat increases due to the increased material expenditure, which is underneath Circumstances can also have an adverse effect.
According to a further development, each fiber is inflated with regard to its volume by an added blowing agent. Due to the inflated fibers, the specific weight of the filter mat has been reduced, so that with the same weight of previously known filter mats made of synthetic fibers, a much stronger mat with improved filter properties can be produced. When producing mats of the same thickness and volume, a material saving can be achieved compared to the known mats due to the inflated fibers.
In addition to the advantageous enlargement of the filtering surface in the case of thicker mats, the puffed fibers also have the advantage that, compared to normal fibers, there is a rougher, irregular surface which also increases the filtering surface.
