Besonders nutzbringend wird sich die vorliegende Anordnung dort verwerthen lassen, wo durch die Anwendung bekannter verticaler oder horizontaler Wasserräder eine erhebliche Veränderung der bezw. Kettenglieder bilden, und sind aufserdem mittelst der Spreizen derart unter einander gekuppelt, dafs das eine Ende der Spreize drehbar auf der Achse der einen Schaufel und das andere Ende ebenfalls beweglich an der folgenden Schaufel angeordnet ist, wodurch erzielt wird, dafs die Schaufeln unter dem Druck des Wassers nicht umklappen, sondern einen Zug auf die nächstfolgende Schaufel und somit auf das ganze System ausüben. Um unter Berücksichtigung der Länge einer derartigen Anlage das Wasser am seitlichen Ausweichen zu hindern und zu veranlassen, dafs dasselbe seinen Druck auf jede einzelne Schaufel ausübt, stellt der Erfinder den ganzen Apparat entweder in schräger Stellung in einem bestimmten Winkel zur Stromrichtung auf, oder er ordnet an dem Gestell D Leitschaufeln i an, welche für jeden Wirkungsgrad verstellbar sind und sowohl eine höhere oder tiefere Einstellung als auch eine Drehung um ihre Achse k gestatten.
