In der Praxis werden neuerdings aber immer öfter Einbände gewünscht, die vius einem Kunststoffmaterial bestehen und vorzugsweise transparent sind. Für solche Einbände ist dieses bekannte Einbindverfahren jedoch nicht anwendbar, da durch das Erwärmen der thermoaktiven Haftschicht dieses Kunststoffmaterial des Einbandes beschädigt würde, es sei denn, man verwendet ein spezielles Kunststoffmaterial, das auch höheren Temperaturen widersteht, was aus Kostengründen im allgemeinen nicht möglich ist, oder man würde einen thermoplastischen Haftkleber verwenden, der schon bei relativ niedriger Temperatur wirksam ist, wodurch jedoch wiederum die Haltbarkeit der Einbindung beeinträchtigt würde.A binding of this type is known (BE-PS 8 01 240).
