Das Gebläse besteht aus einem geschlossenen Hohlcylmder, in welchem eine excentrisch zur Cylindermitte gelagerte Achse sich mit zwei beweglichen Flügeln dreht. Die Flügel, welche entweder durch Scharniere (s. Fig. 1 und 3) oder durch biegsames Blech (s. Fig. 4) mit der Achse verbunden sind, legen sich bei Drehung der letzteren vermöge ihrer Centrifugalkraft dicht an den Cylindermantel an und stellen zwei von einander getrennte Räume im Cylinder her, welche sich regelmäfsig vergröfsern und wieder verringern, wodurch Luftverdünnung und Luftpressung erzeugt wird. In umgekehrter Weise findet auf der anderen Seite die Lufteinströmung durch den Kanal b statt. Bei einer Umdrehung wird daher, wenn von dem Verlust durch Windpressung abgesehen wird, ein Luftquantum gefördert, welches gleich ist der Differenz zwischen beiden Räumen multiplicirt mit zwei.From Fig. 2, the work of the fan can be seen.
