Die bisher auf den Markt gebrachten Metallsockel für Glühlampen mit von der Kontakthülse isoliertem Rand zur Aufnahme des Glaskörpers der Lampe haben für deren praktische Verwendung zum Nachteil, daß ihr Eigengewicht durch die Isolation unverhältnismäßig groß ist. Außer den dadurch vermehrten Frachtspesen macht sich dieser Umstand in der durch das hohe Gewicht bedingten stärkeren Erschütterung, speziell bei Metallfadenlampen durch vermehrten Bruch, unangenehm bemerkbar.
