In der Zeichnung ist ein Grundriß des dieThe invention relates to cooling and lubricating devices for machines for upsetting
of bolts. The device consists of one arranged on the back of the die
Cylinder to which water is continuously supplied. A piston guided in the cylinder
drives a powerful jet of water through the die as it moves forward.
In the drawing is a plan of the
ίο Matrize enthaltenden Teiles der Maschine dargestellt.
ίο Part of the machine containing the die is shown.
i trägt.
A cylinder e is screwed into the rear end of the die holder b , by means of which cooling water can be passed through the die. The cooling water flows continuously to the cylinder. A sleeve f is screwed into the cylinder e. This serves as a guide for a piston h, which in the present case carries the ejector i on its front side. The piston is given a reciprocating movement by a lever I which is moved by a rod η moved by an eccentric rod 0 and a spring m . The backward stroke of the piston h under the action of the spring m is limited by a flange h 1 which can lie against the sleeve f. By adjusting the sleeve f , the backward movement of the piston β can be interrupted sooner or later, depending on the length of the shank of the rivet or screw bolt. The forward stroke of the piston caused by the rod η , however, is always the same, since the rear dead center of the rod η always remains the same and the position of the front dead center of the piston h depends on this. Since this relocation of the rear dead center also results in a corresponding change in the amount of cooling water driven through the die bore by the piston, the amount of cooling water obviously regulates itself according to the length of the upset bolt, i.e. according to the heating of the die.
When the piston h moves forward for the purpose of ejecting the bolt, a powerful jet of water is driven through the die. By using this powerful cooling, it has been achieved that the die parts remain cool even at high outputs. When producing 30 to 60 rivets per minute in continuous operation, the die halves have hardly become lukewarm. The consequence of this is an extremely low level of wear on the die.
