Abstract
Description
Device for disinfecting bacteria-contaminated gases or liquids The invention relates to a device for disinfecting liquids contaminated with bacteria or gases with a housing designed at both ends and a whole or the housing partially filling filter material through which the medium to be deceined is passed will.
It is known wherever it is required, for example the air required in operating theaters or intensive care units in hospitals pass through a bacteria-retaining filter before entering the said rooms. Likewise, the water required there is prepared before it is used sterilized if possible. This also happens through an in the water cycle switched on filter, the filter material is designed in such a way, that it is able to excrete bacteria from the air or water flow and to hold them back, such filters are after a relatively short period of use but so to speak saturated and have to be replaced with new filters. That requires a high expenditure of time and money and in the rest cannot be prevented that bacteria during the filter change in the area to be protected or the environment to be screened, since the bacteria are retained by the filter but have not been killed. There is another disadvantage of such filters also in the fact that the closer they get to their degree of saturation, they still do Allow bacteria to penetrate or grow through the environment to be protected.
This disadvantage can be avoided by installing the filters in changes in an economically no longer justifiable consequence or changes the filters accordingly uneconomical big ball.
The present invention is therefore based on the object of a To create device of the type described in more detail, which is an essential a longer service life of a single filter is made possible. This is according to the invention achieved in that the filter mass is made of ultraviolet rays permeable WIaterial, for example Quartz consists on which at least one tube emitting ultraviolet rays acts. The tube is embedded in the filter material, which is made of quartz wool, for example or porous quartz glass or quartz chippings. By this measure on the one hand the bacteria are filtered out of the flowing medium by the quartz mass and On the other hand, the bacteria are affected by the UV rays that pass through the filter medium Quartz penetrate through, killed, so that even if the filter material is oversaturated only killed bacteria get into the environment to be protected and none there Can cause more damage. Furthermore, the filters according to the invention, without having to be expanded, for example with a so-called rewind clean, i.e. that the filter is opposite operated is so that the killing bacteria back through the suction channel, for example be blown out of a room. With a conventional filter Such a procedure would not be possible since the bacteria are still alive would get stuck in the intake ducts and the filter when restarted the faster they would pollute. Of course, it is also possible that several tubes are arranged axially parallel with a distance from each other and that between two tubes reflectors are arranged, with the purpose of better utilization of the ultraviolet rays each reflector as a double-acting reflector with common Focus is formed. For filters that are specially designed to sterilize liquids serve, the tubes are permeable through the enveloping ultraviolet rays Cylinder protected against liquid.
In the following, the invention will be based on an exemplary embodiment and a schematically depicting FIG. 1 are explained in more detail. With 1 is included denotes a filter that seals in front of the outlet opening of an air duct 2 is set.
The filter 1 consists of several filter chambers 3, 4, 5 and 6, in each of which a plurality of UV tubes 7 are inserted at a distance from one another. here double reflectors 8 are used for the purpose of better utilization of the UV rays, while the inner chamber walls are reflected in a manner not shown. The double effect (samidity of the reflectors 8 is when considering the dashed line Lines circled part of the figure clearly, from which it can be seen that the Tube 7 'is arranged at the focal point of two cut reflectors 8' and 9i.
The chambers 3 to 6 are filled with quartz wool or quartz grit. In order to increase the effective filter length, the chambers 3 - 6 are arranged at an angle. The outlet openings of the chambers are shielded with a normal filter 9, the it prevents the rays harmful to humans in the to be protected Get to space.
In den freien Ringraum zwischen dem mittleren Zylinder und dem inneren Zylinder können dann eine VielzahL von Röhren achsparallel in den Zylindern eingebaut sein, zwischen denen, wie bei dem Ausführungsbeispiel nach der Figur 1 jeweils doppeltwirkende RefLektoren eingesetzt würden.hen only one embodiment is shown here and explained in more detail is, so are many other embodiments while preserving the inventive concept conceivable, each of which is based on the particular structural and performance requirements result in the most varied of circumstances, e.g. Figure 2 does not provide any further details illustrated filter shape that can be strung together as a modular system and, for example, a mobile room air disinfection device provided with a fan results. So it is or also possible to build a filter that consists of an external Cylinder, consisting of a reflective aluminum tube and a quartz tube, a second cylinder made of quartz with a narrower diameter and arranged in the cylinder and an inner cylinder, which is even narrower in diameter, also made of quartz so that three rooms are created. In the free annulus between the middle The cylinder and the inner cylinder can then have a large number of tubes parallel to the axis be installed in the cylinders, between which, as in the embodiment according to FIG. 1, double-acting reflectors would be used.
Both the reflectors and the tubes as well as all free ones in general Spaces within the filter would then be embedded in quartz or filled with quartz.
A filter constructed in this way could be used as a combination filter. While water flows axially through the outer annular space and the inner space without damaging the tubes, it would be possible to go through to send gas to be sterilized through the second inner annular space at the same time.
The expression UV tube is used in the above explanation been. Of course, it is also possible instead of one or more tubes Use lamps emitting ultraviolet rays.
